nepotism seems commonplace in her world that she doesn't even think twice about it. now in a position of power and privilege, why shouldn't she help her friend? but it's that kind of thinking that further cements their separation.[break][break]

reaching out for her hand, ana squeezes, reassuring.[break][break]

"i know i don't have to do anything, cyg. i do them because i want to."[break][break]

returning her grin, ana nods.[break][break]

"good. i'll let you know the schedule soon."

She can hardly contain herself. Ana is lucky she doesn’t jump up and do a little jig, right there. She settles for a subtle double fist pump that almost knocks her water over. Some things are unavoidable, and the energy that’s pulsing through her right now is one of those things.

“God, yes, this is going to be so awesome.” It’s such a little thing, too, but it means so much.

She realizes, then, that she’s completely skipped the bit where she knows what the commercial is going to be about.

“Is it a Fiorelli Floristry commercial?” she asks, slightly sheepish. This should’ve been the first question. “Or, like, a general Hoenn Small Business commercial?”

"no, fiorelli floristry is only involved with the feature we're filming on hoenn."[break][break]

so many projects that she has to take a moment to remember and to wrap her head around them.[break][break]

"the commercial will be for rotomtv itself. we need to ramp up our advertising! it's tough to crack into the hoenn market, you know."[break][break]

her reputation helps a little with that, but she'd rather avoid starring in the commercial herself.[break][break]

"something i know you can help me with. you're very charming, cyg."

Cyg is sure she’s staring with a dumb look on her face but she can’t help it. Somewhere along the lines she’d gotten her wires crossed and thought she was representing Fiorelli Florestry on TV. Which was great. But instead she was going to be representing all of RotomTV?

“Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah, I can do tha--,”

She coughs a little.

“Me? Charming?” She takes a big gulp of water to wash the catch down her throat. “You should tell that to F-- never mind. What I meant to say is, uh, I’ll take your word for it.”

She’s still smiling, though.

despite the blatant nepotism, ana will always put business before pleasure, and so if on the off chance the commercials they shoot with cyg turn out awful, then the only people who'll ever see it are cyg, ana, and rotomtv's team. but she decides to leave this unsaid, not wanting to offer cyg a safety net.[break][break]

it's do or die, apparently.[break][break]

"good! now that we've gotten that out of the way..."[break][break]

she finishes her water.[break][break]

"would you take me on a walk and show me around town?"

She’s buzzy, with excitement and nerves and expectations and hopes and dreams she’d thought long dead and buried. She feels like a kid again-- like she’s 7 and someday she’ll be famous.

So when Ana suggests a stroll, Cyg all but jumps at the opportunity.

“Yeah, absolutely!” she says, somehow managing to get her volume under control. She hops up and steps over to Ana’s side of the booth.

“M’Lady,” she says, offering Ana the crook of her elbow, “thy kingdom awaits.”
