A feather that glows like the moon. It is said to possess the power to dispel nightmares.

Her hard-won prize dangles from a golden chain, hung with care next to a convincing replica. If the latter weren't slightly worn and faded from use and love, they might be impossible to tell apart. Though it isn't real, it's just as dear to her: a gift from her departed father, a treasured memory from childhood.[break][break]

Luka still remembers bedtime stories about Cresselia, the reassurance that she would banish any bad dreams and bring her only sweetness. In the end, it was her father's mere presence that soothed and calmed her more than any trinket, and the memories that cling to it more dear than anything else she owns.[break][break]

It's unsurprising, though, that this had instilled an adoration for the Lunar Pokemon that only grew with age.[break][break]

She had seen Cresselia once before, floating harmlessly through the inter-dream zone as though it were nothing more than clouds. And Lunar Wing has kept the nightmares away spectacularly well; she's afraid to sleep without it near her now, lest the events in the Granite Cave with Martín del Mar play out with horrifying clarity in her dreams.[break][break]

The dream zone is horrible place. But if one could traverse it safely, untouched by contorted fantasy and tangible nightmares...[break][break]

It'd be foolish to try. But if she intends to meet the Cresselia of this world again, it's her best and only lead. She's sure that those she cares for would urge her against such a thing: Remiel Calcifet's voice the loudest amongst them. But what use is such a gift if she lets it live on a chain forever, untouched? Who would she be if she doesn't try and use this blessing for good?[break][break]

No one. Not herself, most certainly.[break][break]

But the path to such an endeavor is not bound to be a simple one...

Pangur Ban

At 8:47 PM, there's a scratch at the door.[break][break]
The sound is familiar and not unexpected. Her door might as well revolve on its hinges given how often paxton concordas and his Pokemon come to visit, and vice versa. Most likely Ollie has been sent to deliver some leftovers so his hopeless neighbor can have a decent dinner.[break][break]
(It's cute how he makes a show of not caring, but fusses nonetheless)[break][break]

But it's not Ollie at the other side of the door. Instead, a large white Persian pads his way inside. Brilliant white fur almost glows in the dim light of the hallway.[break][break]

"Pangur?"[break][break]
She hasn't seen the cat since escaping the church archives all those months ago. For a moment Luka tenses, expecting the cat to be a harbinger of yet another tragedy.Scarlet eyes bore into hers, and his tail twitches once. And then he brushes past her and pads into her apartment, as though he lives there.[break][break]

After taking a lap around her small living room, Pangur once again comes to rest at her feet. He sits on his haunches, head held tall and proud, and meows once. It's a deep, rumbling sound, not unlike the voice he had spoken with before. But whatever powers of speech he once had have seemingly vanished along with the beast they quelled.[break][break]

Finally, Luka notices the two parcels tied around his neck. They're oddly shaped, wrapped in butcher paper and twine. Pangur lowers his head as Luka gingerly lifts them up and over, finding them heavier than expected. She hesitates to open them, but Pangur nudges her hand as he continues to stare expectantly up at her.[break][break]

Inside are two shards: one pastel pink, the other a deep, royal purple. Luka turns them over in her hands, but can make neither head nor tail of them. "Thank you...?" she says slowly, but a smile lingers at the corner of her mouth. Without thinking, she raises her hand to pet the creature— Pangur tenses, but acquiesces to the touch.[break][break]

After a minute, he begins to purr. Luka takes that as a rather enthusiastic consent.
