It’s something new for Abigail to live completely alone. Whether it be a room full of strangers or in her house back in Unova, she was always used to somebody barging in. Now that she has a space of her own the silence was good for awhile, but now it’s become far too deafening. [break][break]
So why not invite somebody over to spend the night with? Especially someone she likes.[break][break]
This time she’s dressed far more casually, something more akin to suit being in the comfort of her own home despite expecting company coming over. [break][break]
When someone knocks on the door her Litten, Loki, is the first to alert her, meowing and scratching his claws at the door. Scooping the Pokemon up in her arms she opens up the door, and is openly surprised.[break][break]
“James- Oh, you brought groceries?” Litten cuddles into her chest, glaring unimpressed at her guest. While a kind gesture It confuses her, until she begins to piece it together. She smiles, shutting the door as he walks in. “Wait.. are you going to cook for me?”[break][break]

She smiles softly, setting Litten down so he could inspect their guest, all while taking some grocery bags off his hands. She puts them on the nearby counter.[break][break]
“I just hope my kitchen is up to standard. I have pots and pans, just no time to really use them.”[break][break]
Having someone cook for her.. Well, it’s something new but welcomed all the same. [break][break]

Litten meows before going to lie down on his cat bed near the couch. He’s more like a pet to her than a battling Pokemon, but could be fierce if he wanted to be..[break][break]
Abigail turns on the television for them both. She liked the background noise. Seems like a rerun of the HOENN STAR TOURNAMENT was on..[break][break]
“I’ve been good. I started working for my friend’s ranch. He has so many Pokemon to groom and look after.”[break][break]
She speaks, stating it more as a fact than something she dreads doing. She likes to keep busy after all.[break][break]

working on a ranch grooming and looking after pokemon? peaceful. adorable. it sure sounds much more fun than spending all day in a lab only to deliver food through the evening.[break][break]

not that he's complaining. he actually finds it incredibly fun to be in the lab.[break][break]

Though the television was on there was a sight she was much more interested in seeing. What can she say? She likes a man that cooks. Abigail walks over to the chair by the counter and sits down, watches him prep their food. [break][break]
“Really? That is peculiar.. Was it an ancient one? I heard they can live a long time.”[break][break]
Like a living fossil they were. She’s been trying to brush up on her Pokemon trivia, Had to if she wanted to be a more serious trainer in the future.[break][break]
“It must be fun to work in a lab. You told me before you’re an assistant, right? I hope you actually get to do intriguing stuff instead of well, intern work.” [break][break]
After all, a cute face and brains shouldn’t be wasted on the tasks nobody wanted to do. [break][break]

what would he even do with a thousand years? would he just be working through it all? damn. the thought is pretty sad to consider.[break][break]

Her gaze curiously fixates on the vegetables. Abigail didn’t dislike cooking but it wasn’t something she did often. Cutting the greens though sounded simple enough.[break][break]
“Sure.”[break][break]
She keeps her knuckles tucked in, fingers clear of the blade as she starts cutting up the vegetables with professional precision. Them working together in the kitchen felt oddly intimate. That smile of his doesn’t help cease the insistent pounding of her heart.
After dicing the vegetables, with a hint of pride she shows off her work to James. [break][break]
