The demand for Gardevoir in the black market was high, their popularity being attributed to their rarity and battle prowess, and definitely no other factor. The hunt for Gardevoir was kind of a competition among members of Team Rocket. Whoever managed to catch or steal one first was in for a fat bonus. Cha-ching!

Rico had come up with an ingenious (in his own words) scheme: Renting a small space in Lilycove's bustling downtown area, he repurposed it into a beauty parlor for Pokémon, advertising it through social media in order to quickly spread the word around. That way he and his cohort could make a quick buck from trainers who wished to give their Pokémon a makeover, all the while waiting for a gullible trainer with a Gardevoir to show up.

"Welcome to Salon Roquet, where we take your Pokémon and make them look faaaabulous~! How may I help you?" Rico greeted their newest customer with a charming smile, his flamboyant mannerisms brought up to eleven in his beauty stylist persona. Maddie, his Meowth that was wearing a frilly, pink dress and red ribbons on each of her whiskers, raised a paw near her head and meowed.

"Can you do something about my poor Gardy?" The customer in question - a middle-aged, upper-class lady - asked. She pulled a Luxury Ball out of her designer purse, sending out... a Gardevoir. What were the odds? "Her hair's gotten all dry and dull. I don't know what to do."

"Jackpot..." Rico whispered under his smiling teeth, his hippie glasses glinting. "Oh my~ Gardevoir hair happens to be our specialty! Step this way, darlings, don't be shy!" He urged the duo to follow him inside the store, while gesturing for his fellow Rocket-in-disguise to bring a chair over. He had spontaneously decided that he would be his assistant.

The assistant role was probably the best role for Shi considering he thought hunting Gardevoir in broad daylight in the city was already hard enough. Personally he'd have just sweeny todd that shit, but alas, the day wasn't over yet. There was always time to take them out, cut them open, see the organs inside, stitch things together. You know. Mad scientist things. Sadly the mission wasn't of his choosing and he was more or less chosen as a filler man, so here he was a hair stylists assistant, that was a "high head" for elderly people with money to pop in; praying that they had a Gardevoir. Honestly Shi thought his partner just wanted to have fun cutting hair while doing work as a plus.

Needless to say as the first victim walked in and was greeted by his partner; his Espeon walked around like the princess she was, displaying that she was a beauty to behold. Luckily the espeon was there as one of Shi's least intimidating pokemon. As such it sat there, minding her own business, but giving a welcoming tail wag. Shi knew if he spoke, it'd come off as disengenuine and figured it'd be best not to break character as he grabbed the chair, which luckily for them, everything in this building was a trap. Sure he didn't engineer the chair being an overall trap.

As the gardevoir sat down in the chair he flapped the large black bib, Shi wasn't a hair dresser or groomer. SO that was what it was. They had to be careful with Gardevoir because one wrong move, one bad intention and you're warped into the aether like chthulu. Walking away he moved out back, grabbing the "shampoos" which were personal chemicals he made, which he was hoping - because he neglacted to test it first - that it was temporariy block the gardevoirs psychic abilities from detecting anything shady.

Rico nodded as his 'assistant' handed him one of his special concoctions disguised as hair products. The Gardevoir sat elegantly on the chair, leaning her head against the sink.

"How long is this going to take?" The middle-aged woman inquired.
"Gardy's hair needs to be handled with extra care, ma'am. Did you know that nine out of ten Gardevoir go bald before they reach Level 50?" The flamboyant stylist explained, eliciting horrified gasps from both trainer and Pokémon. The man chuckled softly. "Don't worry, we won't let that happen to you! I'll tell you what. Why don't you go outside to do some shopping and we'll give you a call once we're done here."
"Well, I do like shopping." The woman mused. "Alright then, I'll see you soon! Be nice to these lovely young men, Gardy!"

No sooner did Gardy's trainer take her leave than an energetic man walked in. Rico's blood froze as soon as he beheld his uniform, letting out a shrill, effeminate cry. "EEEYAUGH!!" Had the cops found out about their illicit activities already? Unless... that man was there as a simple customer. The latter seemed to be the case.

The disguised grunt quickly composed himself, clearing his throat. "Pardon me... I was just petrified by the sorry state of your hair. I'm afraid you're out of luck, officer. This shop is for Pokémon only. Off you go now, bye-bye!" He attempted to shoo the officer off. Frankly, the sooner they got him out of their hair the better (pun not intended).
