He did a number of odd jobs here and there, some of which were... less legitimate than others.[break][break] Eventually, he ended up in Team Rocket as a lowly grunt. His perception of Rocket - influenced by his favorite manga and anime - was that they were like gentlemen thieves that dressed in flamboyant outfits and vanished into the night, leaving nothing but a calling card behind.[break][break] It was there that he met Martín del Mar, who, after noticing Rico's fondness for feline Pokémon, offered him a day job under POG Productions, where he could put his boundless creativity and imagination to good use. The one condition was that he kept his affiliation with Rocket a secret.[break][break] So, when Rico isn't committing dastardly deeds on behalf of Rocket, he works with POG's social media team, making posts and coming up with ideas for new advertizing campaigns. He's also in charge of feeding and taking care of their many mascot Meowth, which he is surprisingly good at.
