As much of a workaholic as Quinn was, even he recognized the need for leisure time every once and a while, even if he doesn't necessarily feel comfortable in Sootopolis City due to Team Rocket. Luckily, the criminal organization didn't spend much time patrolling the beaches, allowing him to relax some without the comfort of his Ranger escort.

Stretched out on the beach towel, adjusting his sunglasses with a small smile as he looked upwards towards the sporadic clouds, enjoying the exceedingly beautiful day. Lucy, his Gardevoir research assistant stood underneath the beach umbrella, arms crossed over her chest with an annoyed look on her face. "Will you relax? You have the day off, after all."

Of course, Quinn Riley speaks and the universe is there to piss on him.

Not directly. Not real piss. Unless sand was piss now... which was kind of gross to think about. We'll move on from the piss talk.

Anyway. No sooner than Quinn had finished speaking, there was chattering and chirping, excited, from just behind him. An Oddish and a Venonat ran by, both fitted into floaty tubes, the two pokemon kicking up sand something fierce as they darted past. The two of them made no show to stop for poor Quinn, just giggling as they dive bombed the water to float around. Unusual, given the species, but surely Hoenn had shown off much stranger things by now.

"Wait up!" Called from behind. Running down the beach, balancing two hotdogs in one hand, came Frey. In his swim shorts, so Quinn could get a look at his surprisingly fit twink body. He was chasing after the pokemon and seemed to be paying just about as much attention as they had- only half stopping when he almost ran into Lucy, which caused him to wobble and kick up more sand at Quinn. Then he fell over into an ungraceful heap.

By some miracle he saved his twin dogs.

A telekinetic bubble surrounded Quinn as the Pokémon came rushing through, created by his assistant to spare her the misery of listening to the scientist whine about being covered in sand. "Thanks, Lucy!" Quinn offered a small smile towards the Gardevoir before peering out at the Pokémon that leapt into the water, giggling slightly. "Were you every like that, Lu-..."

No barrier to protect him from the onslaught of sand this time as Frey came splashing down on the ground beside him, kicking up a veritable flood of the grainy earth into his face. After a moment of sputtering, Quinn stood up from his towel and offered a hand towards the fallen individual. "You alright? Took a pretty big spill!"
