Hey sertoodiephobe!! No worries about feeling nervous about the social settings (especially of RP). Totally normal and something people can cope/learn to manage over time, bit by bit. :)

I'd just say, no matter what art you choose (and you choose them well), you'll find characters and players who think the face claim is attractive no matter what. Feel free to omit the "orientation" part of the application and see how the character develops romantically/sexually/etc. organically without fear of labels.

About your extra note, good question! I think we have quite a diverse community here, and I think we may have less cis-straight male characters than non-cis-straight? But even then, that number is ever fluctuating, and I don't think it's worth placing too much focus on.

Somehow I missed your reply and deleted the original post. I didn't see the reply until after the deletion, and I've learned that staff tend to prefer to archive things, so I want to apologize for that. The tag also doesn't appear in my notes tab.

You know, I actually never considered omission, so that's very helpful. My problem is largely with interpreting the character, but I never considered going 100% into letting him do that himself.

And yes, I was *nods* Seeing familiar names on the staff roster is what made me comfortable enough to join, although admittedly I am terrified of this kind of contact and wanted to not need it. (And you don't have to reassuringly reply to that cause I'm mostly talking to myself whenever I write.) I cooch a dooshed that plan, though. I aim to stay on track in every other regards, though.
