It was fine to skip the incense every once in a while.

The whole unown hunt was less of a priority now that he had the girls to look after.

With Typlosion at his side he exhaled cool breath into the heated weather.

The sun was quite merciless which meant the Rangers were to be out in full force surveying the lands and offering aide to the people, places and pokémon displaced by the extreme heat.

"What do you think?" Taking a bottle of water he drank the majority and used the rest to wet his face and the head of his pokémon. It was a saving grace he didn't have a Flame Body nor Magma Armor.

The variant was a bit grumpy in the heat, not unlike Sénon himself. "Yeah, me too."

They could only dry out in the heat for so long before moving along Route 116.

The tall grass was dry and it was a lot safer for Rustboro if he didn't have his emotional support pokémon passively igniting the grass.

So he carried the fire-loaf on his shoulder; all two hundred pounds of him.

They only made it halfway down before the shadow of another covered them abruptly. Before the Head Ranger could identify the pokémon, it took a swipe at them.

"What the shit!?" Before he could command, the Typlosion kicked off his back forcing him flat onto his face and spewing an Infernal Parade at the Bewear, sending back into the wilds with a ghastly burn and hesitation to attack pokémon with a trainer.

Finding a clearing of less tall but just-as-dry grass the fire-type and fire-trainer moved along carefully, keeping their eyes peeled and their wits sharp.

He didn't let that last swipe from a Bewear get to his despite the fact that it could have taken its head off with a better swing.

A Hatenna made its way by and seemed to stop at the redhead as if asking for permission to move on.

But why tho?

"Get outta here!" He waved the little fairy off sending it on its way. He wasn't big on the species, and as far as the type, Kanto Fairies were held in higher esteem.



For obvious reasons.

"NOPE!" He yelled at a Malamar making its way over to him.

With his eyes narrow he gave it a proper dressing down for not being somewhere else keeping cool. "How are you even active?! Shouldn't you be all dried out?"

He felt like he was. Maybe it had just gotten out of the water.

In any event the pokeranger and pokemon moved on from 116 entering the city of Rustboro; it had been a while since he paid his mother a visit.
