his was going to be an interesting time spent together… he thought to himself. It was obvious the broad knew more than she revealed about Meteor Falls, but he should have known that Erin wasn’t going to be too keen on helping him anytime soon given their relationship thus far.

“Well thanks for the obvious advice, it really helps…” Slow but sure steps carried the male further into the cave. Despite the care he took, the muddy floor took him by surprise and caused him to slightly slip. He quickly caught his balance and stopped himself from falling on his face. Not bothering to look back at Erin, he continued to move.

As he walked near the waters edge, a duo of Pokemon decided to jump in their way. Thanks to the years of studying he did as a kid, he managed to identify both of the Pokemon. The one that interested him was the Squirtle, and he was going to go after it immediately.

Launching his PokeBall forward, a flashing light expanded outwardly and in its wake a freshly awoken Treecko stood rubbing its eyes. “What are you doing standing there, shake it off and go after that Squirtle!” He demanded, his eyes focusing on the imminent battle.

“Quick Attack!” Treecko immediately vanished from its current position and lunged at the Squirtle with it’s body. The Squirtle wasn’t a punk however, and quickly retaliated with rapid spin to deflect the Treecko. You’re only prolonging the inevitable he thought to himself. As Treecko was repelled Kenneth ordered him to use Giga Drain while the turtle Pokemon still spun around.

The attack was direct and drained a lot of the Squirtle’s energy, however it wasn’t finished yet. But Kenneth wasn’t going to let the Pokemon have time to rest, this was the time to end it. “Energy Ball, quickly before it snaps out of it.” With quickness and precision, Treecko gathered the energy in front of its chest and released it forward. The ball of energy barreled towards the Squirtle and smacked it right in the chest leaving it on the floor struggling to stand up.

Kenneth reached for one of his few PokeBalls and launched it at the defeated Squirtle. Whether it would be enough, he thought so. He waited to see if the capture went successfully or not.

uccessfully capturing the Squirtle Kenneth walked over slowly and picked up the PokeBall, fastening it to his hip. He was now one short of a full team. Though, he wasn't sure how many of these Pokemon were going to stay permanently. His gaze now returned towards Erin, who had also caught herself a Pokemon. Why she would want a Mantine was lost on Kenneth, but he didn't feel the need to dig at her for it.

"Yeah, I have. But if you're trying to get me to swim right now, I'll pass. Are you going to use that Mantine you just caught to get us up there?" He said to her. There was obviously an entrance up past the waterfall, one could see a slight opening from where they were both standing. Squirtle might have been able to carry Kenneth on his shell up the waterfall, but the damage he sustained from the battle wouldn't allow for such movement. The only available option they had currently was the Mantine that she possessed. "Well, hurry up now. I'd like to see what's up there."

Kenneth was in search of the Draconoid people but he heard rumors that most of them were either dead, or in hiding—the idea of finding one in Meteor Falls was something like false hope, but he had to try. So far, there were no signs of other human life, not even any wandering trainers that would normally be visiting this place. It was odd, he thought to himself.

Though two more Pokemon showed themselves to the trainers, Kenneth was largely uninterested. Unless they began to attack him, he would act as if they didn't exist. Squirtle being added to his team satisfied him for the time being and he would rather not waste anymore time on Pokemon as boring as the ones in front of them.

he was a funny one. "It sure does. How about you stay here and I take the ride all the way up myself?" She continued to tease him, but this time he let it go without a rebuttal. Instead, his focus was set on what could be waiting for the two of them up the waterfall.

As Kirlia healed the Mantine, Kenneth was interested in its powers also. "Here, heal Squirtle for me. I may be an asshole, but I'd rather him be 100% in case I need him for later." The Pokemon was released back onto the muddy ground, and its present state was not one capable of doing much. Fortunately, the Kirlia utilized her move once more to restore Squirtle to fine health. "Thanks" The PokeBall drew the Squirtle back into its space.

"Me first?" He took a careful step forward and found himself on top of the Mantine. "You know, it'd be awfully funny to see you fall over into the water, especially in that dress you're wearing." The way she acted around water made it seem as if she wasn't particularly that good of a swimmer, however, looks tended to be very deceiving.

The Mantine carried the two of them up the waterfall, and let them off in front of the entrance. On the way up, however, they angered two Pokemon that trailed them towards their destination. Kenneth preferred to do battle on the ground. As he disembarked the Mantine, and the moment his feet touched the ground he immediately released his Shelgon onto the field. Its opponent was an angered, and annoying Pelipper.

The Pelipper used Hurricane. A powerful gust of wind flew towards Shelgon. "Protect!" Shelgon created a shield around itself that nullified the opponents move. Pelipper clearly had the speed advantage, and it wasn't going to let up one bit. He dove in with his body and slammed itself into Shelgon. That wasn't quite a Pokemon move, but he seemed angry, and anything was possible for an angry bird. However, that slam did not do much to Shelgon as its body is quite strong compared to that of a flimsy bird.

"Dragon Breath, now, while it's dazed." Shelgon released a stream of draconic energy that enveloped the Pelipper for a few moments. Shaking the pain off, Pelipper used Roost. The anger, matched with its dedication made it quite an annoyance. Pelipper used Water Pulse, and despite Shelgon being told to move out the way, his lack of speed did not allow for that. The attack connected and sent the Shelgon into the wall behind it.

"Get up!" Kenneth screamed. To his surprise, a white light covered the Pokemons body and began to shine extremely brightly. "Seriously?" He couldn't believe it, but his Shelgon was evolving! In moments, the light faded away from the Pokemon's body and revealed a majestic presence. Salamence was finally here. "You're beautiful!" Kenneth may not be a good person, but he cared for his own Pokemon. Whether it was because they were part of his ego, maybe, but that didn't matter. He was extremely excited about this type of progression. "Use DRAGON CLAW!" The added excitement in his voice was apparent.

Salamence shot out like a rocket towards the Pelipper, which looked completely shocked at the turn of events that unfolded before it. A shining claw connected with the Pelipper and sent it flying back towards the waterfall, and down towards where the group began their journey. "Good job, but where we're about to go I'm going to need to keep you hidden. I'll call on you when I need you." He patted his Salamence on the head before withdrawing it from battle. "Did you see that?" Was all he could muster up, even though Erin had her own battle she was going through.

t was surely a backhanded compliment that Erin threw his way; what could he expect from someone he had constantly bumped heads with though. He had half the mind to release Salamence from its cage and have it scare her and make her stumble back into the water and ruin her outfit. Fortunately for her, his great idea was interrupted by the arrival of a Noibat, a Pokemon that he was truly interested in.

Kenneth released Scarlett from her PokeBall. She yawned and stretched her legs. Scarlett must have been sleeping right before she was called on. "Use Flamethrower on that Noibat!" Scarlett responded immediately. The fire built up within her throat and began to escape from her maw before she ultimately released it outwardly towards the bat. Though, the attack was completely reflected off of a screen that became apparent the moment it was hit. "Fuck, a Mime? Lucky you, that Noibat is all yours." He said to her.

Mr. Mime did not bother waiting for his attack instead, he used Psychic to envelop Scarlett in his mental powers and lift her into the air. Scarlett was struggling to move, but she had the ability to utilize one of her signature abilities to combat such a technique before she was inevitably thrown into a wall or worse. "Captivate, now!" He screamed out the order.

It worked. The move reduced Mr. Mimes special attack and also weakened him enough to wear the Psychic dispelled. "Use Flamethrower!" Scarlett shook off the shock from the Psychic and utilized the same move that was reflected before. This time, however, the Salazzle's attack connected and enveloped Mr. Mime completely. The Pokemon's screams were heard, and they were ignored. Mr. Mime roasted till he was no longer able to battle, maybe even able to breathe. "Good job, I'll keep you around for the rest of this trip. We're going to be heading into a smaller area and I need you around."

Kenneth looked back at Erin and waited for her to move before he followed. "Whenever you're ready."
