It was also Jayden's former home, before he'd taken up his things and moved on over to Sootopolis, along with many other Rocket who had done the same thing. There were pros and cons to having a city that was officially occupied, but one of the cons was the absence of their presence in another. It had left gaps in their iron mettle-- ones that the League was more than eager to fill.

[break][break] In a mere minutes after a phone call from Felix Gallagher , Jayden appears in the dark. The help of his pokemon's PHANTOM FORCE helps him teleport to the spot with ease, in the alleyway behind his coworker.

Direct. To the point. It's exactly why Jayden likes working with Felix.

[break][break] Plus, they've established a relationship at this point — an easy back-and-forth, a silent language between the two of them. It makes jobs easier.

[break][break] Felix gestures over his shoulder, and Jayden has to crane his head a bit to look (because Felix is fucking 6'7" and Cappa never told Milky this important piece of information). "Good job," he said, nodding at the other. Any thing that they could take from the League was a worthy endeavor. "Have you had a chance to scout the area?"

[break][break] Regardless, both his Phantump and Dragapult are released to do their own survey of the area — disappearing in a flicker of light.

He nods. Jayden is sure that his Dragapult and Phantump will come back with any necessary intel. It is only a matter of minutes.

[break][break] "I don't think it should be difficult," he agrees with the other.

[break][break] From their past mission, it was also an option to teleport directly into the heart of the Headquarters. That being said, that was not the safest option, considering that they did not have an actual blueprint of the area. Who knew what kind of danger they could be walking into?

[break][break] He glances skyward as his Dragapult and Phantump return. In a glance, he can tell that there are no sudden problems.

[break][break] "Let's go."

[break][break] Returning his Phantump, Jayden is quick to jump atop of his Dragapult. He knows that Felix will follow without even thinking about it, so he heads towards the indicated drop-off site. They land on a steel bar, and Jayden is quick to pry open a nearby window.

[break][break] "You can go first."

[break][break] Felix is bigger than him, after all.

With ease, Jayden slides into the vents after the other. The door clips behind him shut, and his steps are soundless as the follow the larger, bulkier man. The lights are dim and obscure them well — which proves to be perfect for what they plan.

[break][break] In the building's interior, it appeared that things were busier than initially seemed from the outside. Still, Felix Gallagher was right — they had caught the employees during a lunch hour and many of the forklift drivers were already heading out for their break. The second the group of employees leave the vicinity, he sent his Klefki after them to lock the door.

[break][break] He nods over at Felix. "Good idea." Once the other set out, Jayden would follow in the opposite direction, just to make sure that both sides were covered.

[break][break] From his belt, his Sabeleye used DETECT to scout out the area ahead.

"what is —"

[break][break] a flashlight splashes in front of him, as a league guard turns around to catch him. luckily enough, jayden's reactions — ingrained in him from years and years of missions like these — are faster. his arms wrap around the man in a headlock, and in a second, the man slumps at his feet unconscious.

[break][break] tucking him behind a storage container, jayden quickly meets up with Felix Gallagher on the other side. a light sprawls from the office's interior. his head tilts. "one down, fifteen west. i hid him behind a storage container, but we might be running short." after all, who knows who would find him?

[break][break] he whistles under his breath, low, calling his sable-eye out. his marowak also materializes beside them.

[break][break] "i suggest we go in hard and fast."

[break][break] a SHADOW BONE hits hard against the lock, breaking it open and his sable-eye runs in with NIGHT SHADE.

by the time that Felix Gallagher has been able to secure the head, jayden has done well with the arms and legs. one of the men knocked down solid with the blunt end of a knife, and another bounded and shoved into a corner.

[break][break] as a duo, jayden and felix were certainly efficient.

[break][break] 'what do you want?' hissed the man, glaring up at "spencer fox". 'what kind of fucking business proposition?'

[break][break] unfortunate that they had to be so aggressive from the get-go.

[break][break] "align yourselves with rocket." jayden doesn't even bother introducing himself. there's hardly a need. "surely you must be feeling frustrated with the league's efforts — it's why your staffing is sparse."

[break][break] there is something that flashes in the man's eyes, jaw clenched.

[break][break] "they aren't paying you enough, are they?"

jayden can see it in the other man's eyes, the hate that boils over and the resentment that is growing. but it is not resentment for rocket, it is for his situation.

[break][break] undeniably, jayden thinks, the fault of the league.

[break][break] to force a man to the whims of strangers.

[break][break] many would call rocket evil or malicious, but is it so horrible to force a man's hand when he has none to offer? or is it freeing?

[break][break] "fine," the man eventually spits out, rattling the doorknob of a nearby drawer. in it is several files — of the warehouse operations, league intel, and many more. "i don't have a choice, do i?"

[break][break] jayden stands beside felix and hovers over the man, his gaze darkening.

[break][break] "no," his voice is clipped. "you don't."
