“PERHAPS,” he starts but trails off unceremoniously.

“we must do what we can, where we can. to give our best until the end so that we may live without regrets.”

a cursory glance at this watch reveals this conversation has taken more of his time than he had presumed. a silent notification flickers across the led screen and fernando stands.

“i’ll be off then, ivanov.”

he starts to leave but stops mid-step. his epiphany is plain to see.

“—actually, ivanov, there might be a way to pull coordinates from that mega stone.”

he clicks his tongue as if in mid-thought. the realization is lost in a haze of time and relevance. as if it were mentioned long ago.

“the megalopolans used a device that could do such as thing. they were disguised as shiny machines used at a winter contest several years ago.” that’s where the trail stops short. “i’m not sure where you’d find one, but should you manage, let me know and perhaps an alternative may exist.”

he exits shortly after, leaving the gym leader to process this new information.
