He had been sitting in the garden inside of the sub, he had a new found appreciation for plant life given his new abilities. Grass type pokemon also seemed to be more inclined to approach him now as well. [break][break]

His ferroseed was plunked into the ground, a jumpluff floating in circles around it as if it was performing a ritual but the ferroseed was just stuck in the floor, enjoying the artificial sunlight. He laid in the grass nearby, sipping on his favorite adult tea, whiskey. Little did he know that a familiar face who always seemed to be able to find him was going to approach him soon. Continuing their conversation from before.

[attr="class","textbox"] after his visit to elijah gardner , jayden found himself wandering the sub more than he usually did. most of the time, when he finished giving his mission detail to rocket's upper brass, he would have either burrowed himself in the library or returned to his own home in sootopolis. occasionally, he would find himself right on another mission. this time, oddly enough, he found himself free.

[break][break] as he passed the garden room, he found himself pausing. a familiar face was sitting in the middle of the forested space, his pokemon surrounding himself.

[break][break] it struck him with a bit of irony - how different bryan delarosa looked from the moment they had first met in littleroot all those years ago. now, with bryan's beast title and new avatarship, he was different.

[break][break] things had changed.

[break][break] "hey," he said, deciding to step into the garden room. his eyes shifted briefly around the avatar's pokemon, before landing on the man himself. "come here often?"

[break][break] whether things had changed for the better or worse, he wouldn't know.

He barely looked at up at the person entering the room. Oh, it was Jayden. [break][break]

Normally he'd pay more attention as well, rocket was full of thieves murderers and crooks and misguided youth. He used to be pretty aware, always on, ready to react to a sudden attack. But now a days? He was indifferent on the sub, no one fucked with him and well if they did, they'd be the newest famous hole in the sub after he was done throwing them through the wall. [break][break]

"Sup." he'd answer as he took a swig of his whiskey, the momentary buzz he got from it quickly vanishing as he sighed. He needed to figure out how to turn that ability off, drinking wasn't the same when the buzz vanished as quickly as it came. [break][break]

"Some one's been walking around the sub a bit. The fuck you up to?" he asked.

[break][break] "i submitted a mission report and then organized some belongings in my room here," he said automatically, as if reporting to a superior. he blinks, as if realizes who he's speaking to, and then says, "and then i walked a bit around after my visit to elijah gardner. walking often helps to clear my thoughts."

[break][break] jayden pauses for a moment before deciding to sit next to bryan and his pokemon. his own shiny umbreon, lada, curls up in the grass to soak up the daylight.

He pauses for a moment, saying Jayden sit besides Bryan. He moves his hand over to offer Jayden some of his liquor, a gesture he doesn't really often do anymore. [break][break]

"Why were you talking to Elijah? Did he mention me?" he asked curiously wondering if Elijah was now a new enemy in rocket he had made. He could never tell what the man was thinking, probably nothing most of the time anyways.

He doesn't really bat an eye, if Jayden lied it was cause he had a reason for it.[break][break]

But he had a feeling it was the truth, he had known Jayden for a long time as the man was the one who was responsible for recruiting him into rocket in the first place. [break][break]

He waits a moment before answering, letting the question hang in the air for a moment. "No. I don't, just a little squabble." he says not giving much details to it. Especially cause if the issue grew larger than it should, he'd cut it at the root himself. [break][break]

"It should be handled already, I was just surprised you were having trouble sleeping is all...If you wanted weed you could've just asked me too you know." he said. "I'm sure one of the benefits of xerneas is probably my stuff is danker than his." he says jokingly...before realizing it might be closer to the truth than he thought. Seemed like he realized more and more what he could do every day.

[break][break] at the suggestion of weed, jayden laughs. it's one of surprise and shock, breathless as it bubbles out of his mouth. "weed?" his lips upturn in a smirk after, teasing. "so that's what your xerneas powers do for you."

[break][break] he sobers after a moment, looking down at a blade of grass and watching the way a small bug crawls to the stem, before disappearing into the undergrowth. jayden looks back up at bryan after.

He turns his head upon hearing the S from Jayden. But he ignores it, unsure if he was actually going to say her name or not. [break][break]

"She's dead." he blurts out as Jayden was well aware of why Bryan had joined rocket. It was to fund her hospital bills that her parents could not. Yet despite that, he couldn't see her. They wouldn't allow it. [break][break]

"She's gone forever, at first I thought about reviving her with blue mulch I have from that stranger, father winter." he tells Jayden but then he points out logic that Xerneas warned him. [break][break] something is churning in his gut. not quite the same stirrings of when he'd heard about Chu-e Choi 's death, but something similar. it's sympathy, he realizes belatedly. jayden knew how important his sister was.

[break][break] his head tilts as the other explains the details. although jayden had never met him, he had heard enough stories about father winter from the other rockets who had, so it was unsurprising that bryan delarosa had been given such an important gift. yet, it was equally unfortunate that he'd been unable to use his powers to save his sister.

[break][break] there's a silence that passes through them both, and jayden busies himself by looking down at the pokemon around them, gathered among the flowerbed.

[break][break] "did you know about yamask?" he says idly, picking a dandelion from the grass. the beast knows jayden's affection for ghost-types, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he has information regarding them. "rumor has it that the mask it carries is the one it had when it was still human." his head tilts. "phantump have similar tales about them, except it's said that they carry the spirit of a young child."

He hoped it was true and not just some fake mythos. "She did always wanna go on a Pokémon adventure, so. I hope it's true. She'd have probably want to be a cuter Pokémon though. Probably an Alcremie or some kind of grass type." he explains as a small smile paints his face. [break][break]

It was the first genuine smile he had in a while, everything else was false bravado and forced emotions. "It's my fault she died. If I had just been faster, she could have survived. Now I can never face her again, tch. The day I joined rocket I knew she'd never forgive me for it but it was my only chance" he says being vulnerable with someone besides Priam for once.

[break][break] jayden himself has never considered such a thing. it seemed already a lot to consider what it would be like to be human.

[break][break] the rocket sobers a bit as he listens to bryan delarosa , feeling a stir of sympathy for the other. jayden personally couldn't relate - he never held such strong emotions for his own family, but that was complex.

[break][break] "rocket is glad to have you," he finishes instead. "i'm not sure if you believe in alternate universes but if such one exists, perhaps there is a world where you and your sister could have seen eye to eye."
