There, at last, the final piece of his Safari Zone puzzle. Once he shoved that little, teal big-mouth into a ball they could blow this popsicle stand. It was half-buried in the dirt and as Zia decided what angle to come from it hopped up in a spray of sand and bolted straight for Onyx, jaws agape and teeth bared.

Onyx stood his ground and let the beast close. It got to within inches when Zia knocked it prone with a steel wing, errant wind from the attack brushing back Onyx’s hair. The Gible flailed on the ground for a bit but Zia landed on its writhing form and began repeatedly hitting it with drill peck. With powerful thrusts of her wings she lifted it slightly off the ground and then slammed it back down.

Stunned, the Gible fell still for a brief enough second for Onyx to toss a Pokeball. Once it was collected, he let Ziadem put her feathers back in order, before hopping on her back and flying out.
