How embarrassing. At least there was no one of consequence around to see a stranger kneeling behind her and rubbing her dress with leaves. It all felt so ridiculous, which it was. This was a ridiculous situation.

“Yes, go ahead,” she grants the permission for him to do the same. Toni has never been a shameful person. It’s the intimacy of a stranger working so close to her ass that makes her shift, it’s the discomfort of the fact that she actually found herself impressed by him.

“Does it seem to be working,” she cranes her head to the side to look back at him as he works.

When he finishes, Toni turns forther to inspect the back of the dress. She scoops a corner up in one hand to pull it out and get a better view. Doesn’t look half bad.

After a nod of approval, she turns her attention back to . . . Lance. Sounds familiar.

“Toni,” she smiles, extending her hand to properly greet him, “I think I owe you lunch or at least a drink for saving my dress . . and me the embarrassment of having to wear it around looking like that.”

It’s a delicate handshake with the intentional brush of her fingertips against his palm when he pulls away, “A drink sounds lovely,” and something she would certainly never say no to . . . as long as it was a good drink.

“After I get some new flowers, of course,” she reminds them of her original mission. Toni is all about the presentation, and a beautiful bouquet of Summer Hoenn flowers would elevate her apartment, “Back to Oldale, then we can decide on a location. I doubt Oldale has many good bars,” Honestly, Toni didn’t know much about Oldale, just that it was a small town with pretty flowers. She didn’t put any further effort into researching the place.

in his brief experience visiting oldale, he's found it small, boring, but quaint. a little like littleroot, now that he thinks about it.[break][break]

Small and boring are really the only adjectives Toni has to describe the small town. Yes, quaint to a degree but that’s not the kind of lifestyle she lived. It made for good pictures for social media and that’s about as much as she appreciated the quaintness.

“In Oldale?” she laughs at the prospect for finding a good drink there but she shrugs her shoulder as walks past Lance, back the way she came from, “I like your enthusiasm, challenge accepted.”

It doesn’t take long for the curving route to dump them back at the outskirts of the small town. The center teems with life, a beautiful flower garden the centerpiece. There’s many flower shops in the square so Toni just picks one and start meticulously inspecting the bouquets, “Now I have to find the perfect one again,” she sighs in disappointment, still mourning the loss of her previous bundle. She leans over to gently touch the thick petals of a bright orange lily, “A few more baby’s breath this one would be close to perfect,” the bright orange lilies and deep yellow golden rods were a bit too colorful. They needed some white to break them up.
