Andrea spotted a cute little Fomantis munching on some leaves. "D'awww, hey there, little buddy." She greeted the tiny critter, who got frightened by the sight of her fearsome dragon form (read: onsie) and ran away.

That was unfortunate, but not the end of the world. Not yet anyway. The young PokéManiac knew that if she remained patient and vigilant, she was bound to find some rare and powerful new friends eventually.

A Duskull jumping out of the bushes in broad daylight? That was certainly unusual, but Andrea wasn't gonna look a gift Ghost type in the mouth... or rather its... weird buck teeth.

"Go, Missy!" The eccentric trainer sent out her Kangaskhan, which shrugged off the opponent's Shadow Ball like it was nothing, dusting off her shoulder afterwards. The one-eyed ghoul then manifested a large pin out of thin air. "Look out, it's trying to Curse you!" Andrea warned her.

Missy wasn't about to let that happen, pummeling the Duskull with a calculated Mega Punch that bypassed its ghostly immunity, knocking its lights out just enough for Andrea to throw a Safari Ball its way.

A splashing sound got Andrea's attention. A Magikarp had jumped out of a nearby pond and was now flopping about pathetically. It was no ordinary Magikarp, however; this one sparkled as if made of actual gold! She couldn't let that one get away. She approached carefully, but when the piscine Pokémon sensed her presence, it bumped into her with a Tackle. The girl staggered backwards and frowned. It was on!

Human versus fish. The ultimate showdown. Andrea grabbed a stick and charged at the golden Magikarp, but it dodged her swing by Bouncing into the air, before crashing on top of her head. Now woozy, she tried to regain her footing. Meanwhile, Magikarp used Splash, but nothing happened. Missy spectated the battle, contemplating whether she should interfere.

"Dragon Kick!" The dragon-hooded girl yelled, sliding on the ground and ramming her foot into the prone Water type. Her ferocious, if a bit weak attack connected, sending her opponent flying at least a couple of feet back, which she considered a great achievement. What hope did she have of becoming a Pokémon one day if she couldn't even beat a Magikarp?

Getting off the ground, the draconic cosplayer panted heavily. "Hah... I did it. I beat a Pokémon using my own strength. RAWR!" She roared into the sky triumphantly. Missy pointed at her bag, reminding the eccentric trainer that she still needed to catch the shiny Magikarp. "Oh, right. Safari Ball, go!" She exclaimed, hurling the camo-patterned ball.

Before the young PokéManiac could celebrate her newest catch, a small hand tried to wrench her wooden stick away from her hand. "Hey, you can't take that! It's mine!" She groaned, engaging in a game of tug o' war with the wild Grookey.

The Galarian starter did not like that. It started screaming at the top of its lungs, making an Uproar that forced the costumed girl to cover her ears. Picking up the stick, it began smacking the woman on the shins, reinforcing her opinion that monkey Pokémon were the worst. "Ow! Ow! OW! Stop that!"

Andrea's Kangaskhan towered over the Grookey with a menacing aura. One Dizzy Punch was enough to bring its assault and battery to an end, making the tiny ape see stars. "T-thanks, Missy..." The dragon-hooded girl sniffled, trying to cover the fact that she was crying. She tried to save face by tossing a Safari Ball at the hurt Grookey.

Andrea lied down on the grass, letting out an elongated sigh. "Is this what being a Pokémon feels like, fighting all the time? It sure takes a lot out of you..." She pondered aloud, closing her eyes.

She hardly even noticed the little Remoraid that jumped out of the nearby pond, only to jump back in. Her whole body was aching, she needed a moment to catch her breath.

A wild Salandit had appeared. In the past, she had let that elusive lizard give her the slip, but this time Andrea was determined to catch it. The draconic cosplayer got off the ground, groaning lightly as she willed herself up, and pointed at the obsidian reptile. "Missy, put it to sleep!" She ordered.

Her Kangaskhan did just that, Singing a beautiful lullaby that made the Salandit fall fast asleep, a sizable snot bubble coming out of one of its nostrils. Andrea proceeded to send out her Tyrantrum into battle. "Now Regina, bite it down with your Psychic Fangs!" She cried out, pointing at the sleeping salamander.

The primordial predator opened its humongous mouth far and wide, biting down the prone Salandit with Psychic capabilities that took advantage of the target's Poison typing. With that, Andrea used her last remaining Safari Ball on the creature, hoping for the best.
