did rook know much about the supposed monster? not really, and to be honest they didn't really give a fuck, either, but they needed a reason to get more involved in rocket-related stuff. and, honestly, what better than risking getting caught sneaking into a ranger hq?[break][break]

....sarcasm, obviously. they could think of several things, but it was too late to turn around now. not when they were trying to figure out how to go about this. they could use their cat pokemon- assuming she would listen to him- to try to look around the place, but...there was the chance of someone following the witch back to them because they thought she was a stray. she looks enough like one, to be fair, but it still wouldn't be ideal.[break][break]

maybe his partner would have a better idea of what to do here- they sort of doubt it, for plenty of reasons, but it's enough to hope.[break][break]

working with rook could go two ways, orchid figures. it could be wonderful, great, things could go exactly as planned — or it could be an absolute disaster, crumbling apart. orchid prayed to whatever forces may be out there that it would be the first, she doesn’t know if she has the energy to be snarky if it goes the wrong way.[break][break]

she’s quick to arrive on-sight, wearing the least conspicuous clothes in her wardrobe. at least clothing decision had been easy enough, given that about 90% of her clothes were made for someone who wanted to be noticed. she almost laughs, thinking of her partner’s reaction if she had shown up wearing some of that.[break][break]

she might have no idea how they plan on doing this, but she’s excited to give it a shot. her life had needed some more excitement, the good-old performances and public appearances just weren’t doing it anymore. maybe breaking and entering was a bit drastic, especially given that it’s ranger hq, but go big or go home, right?[break][break]

orchid thinks she sees rook ahead, and has to stop herself from waving, trying to catch his attention. taking a breath, she hurries over.

the witch, at rook's feet, seems like she's getting restless, and rook doesn't think they can blame her, because, honestly, he's getting restless too. he doesn't like sitting this long, and, after a moment, he sighs and gives in to the cat pokemon. "go ahead." if she even chooses to at this point; usually, if the glameow really wanted to go somewhere, she would do it regardless of rook's approval.[break][break]

like this time. she jumps up, suddenly, long after he thinks she's going to get up, rushing to greet someone. confusion and...yeah, a bit of panic, honestly, is enough to cause rook's head to shoot up as he tries to gauge who he's dealing with. from a distance, he can only really see a shock of pink hair, and the realization hits him like a brick.[break][break]

so not only is he going to have to deal with the witch (cat), he's also going to have to deal with the witch (human). great.[break][break]

the cat in question, though, seems pleased as punch to see orchid; the exact opposite of her owner, if orchid decides to take note of the obvious expression on his face. "took you long enough to show up." he comments, simply, trying to ignore the way the witch practically begs for affection in a way she hates with anyone else.[break][break]
