It was all over the news. The impending doom of Hoenn becoming closed off to the rest of the world. Some sort of dome encasing them in, like the dome in Mauville City. Everyone was in a panic, and the whispers in the streets didn't help ease Caspian's nerves.

Especially not when he had taken over after NIKO MANNER's death.

He still felt like he wasn't right for the role, but everyone in the gang wanted him to lead, since he had been Niko's second. That meant he had more responsibilities than ever. And they were still trying to find his murderer.

Supplies were still okay, but Caspian's paranoia was growing with this eventual shortage. He was in Oldale to get a load of food, send them back to Verdanturf with several of his Pokemon before going to get some more supplies when he was cornered by a rival gang.

"Guys, we're all fucking struggling here. We don't have time to fight over this shit," he said, annoyance clear in his tone as his Pokemon, along with his newly acquired SNORUNT lined up at his side.

They were armed, weapons pointing at his GARCHOMP, NIDOQUEEN, and the poor baby.

"Leave them alone!" he snapped.

Melody had been wandering around oldale town, just trying to help out wherever she could since Hoenn was once again in dire straits. Just her presence in public alone would probably lift people's spirits just a tad bit. Right? [break][break]

She was waving to the people in town, cobalion walking alongside her staring ahead, indifferent to the people who were watching in awe as her Kingler sat there and garbled bubbles and left a small trail behind him. Suddenly, cobalion looked in a specific direction as melody turned to him, noticing his change in behavior and immediately jumped onto his back as she recalled kingler. [break][break]

He had heard the cry for help and suddenly they leapt into action, leaving the crowd that saw her in the dust.[break][break]

As the gangster attempted to use their weapons on his Pokémon they would find they did not hit their target, clunking against a weird force field. Melody had sent her kingler out again as he used wide guard. "What are you guys doing?!" she shouts at them as Cobalion flashes a scary face at the group, striking fear in their hearts. [break][break]

"You ok?" she asked looking towards the the white haired man she thought was the victim.

Dammit. He was stupid to come unarmed. He knew better, especially after Niko's death.

"Just take the shit and go. Leave them out of this," he said through gritted teeth.

Knowing he'd be out of money that they had saved up for these stocks, Caspian took his own Pokemon's life as more valuable than this warfare. But they didn't appear to want to hold up. Perhaps knowing he'd file a report or come after them himself.

His poor SNORUNT let out a cry of fear, crawling back behind Caspian as he got ready to charge an order to attack. Perhaps he could strike first, get them to survive. But suddenly, there was a clopping noise, and the other men were taking off.

Turning his head, he noticed an unfamiliar Pokemon and a woman, yelling at the gangsters and approaching him. He blinked before stepping to the side and kneeling beside his hiding and quivering ice-type.

"I'm fine. It's a stupid situation I shouldn't have gotten myself in. Thanks. I don't think she's okay right now, though..."

She kept her eyes locked on the ruffians who were threatening this man and their pokemon. The gang members recognized her, it was Melody Miro of the Elite 4. [break][break]
Not only that but Cobalion was with her. "Cobalion REALLY hates people who try to harm pokemon you know, sometimes..I cant even get him to stop.." she says worriedly at the men in front of her as Cobalion suddenly uses false swipe on the group of people in front of them in a wide swing. [break][break]

The men slammed into the wall, not dying immediately thanks to the move's properties. "Do you want more?" she asked, not really looking at either cobalion or the gang members as the cobalion drew his sword once more as a warning. She turned to the snorunt, realizing the man said he wasn't sure how the pokemon was doing. She knelt down to the snowrunt, placing a hand on the little ones back. "Don't worry hun, we'll make sure you're ok. Just stay calm, Melly and cobalion will take care of that big group of meanies." she says with a warm smile on her face.[break][break]

"They're lucky cobalion has a 10 second grace period before attacking again without holding back." she warns the group, giving them a chance to run.

Caspian watched the woman and her interesting Pokemon take charge. He was rather impressed, since he usually took the role of the hero in these cases... though a lot of the times, that failed miserably since he was outnumbered.

Nevertheless, her Pokemon was strong. And fascinating.

The men took off with their tails tucked between their legs, though it was a slow limping motion more than anything. Caspian almost couldn't help the laugh that he barked as he watched them flee, grabbing at his stomach.

"Wow. That was fuckin' cool, man! I've never seen something like that. It'd help me out if you were around me all the time..." he said with a sigh.

Caspian directed his Pokemon to take the supplies of food back as directed, turning back to Melody.

"Thanks a lot, Miss. You and your fancy Pokemon sure helped us out. My gang would've been out of food in a while if you didn't step in. And this little lady would be way worse for wear..."

Melody raised her eyebrow as she stood up from petting the snorunt's back. "Gang? Oh! You mean friends?" she asked with a warm smile spreading across her cheeks as she realized he was bringing food for his friends. [break][break]

"Fancy? Hah! If you want fancy then it's virizion you're looking for." she says trailing back to the comment he made about her pokemon. "Cobalion's a stubborn old man if anything." she says jokingly as Cobalion's ever unchanging expression walked over to her and planted his head on top of hers as he towered over her.[break][break]

Melody crouched down, as Cobalion's head stayed floating in the spot he once was as it turned out he was staring at caspian evergreen instead and Melody's attention shifted back over to the snorunt. "Awwww. Don't worry little lady, those big mean scary guys are all gone now. You were soooo brave. How come those jerks were trying to take your stuff?" she said giving the snorunt the majority of her attention as Cobalion CONTINUED to stare at Caspian, awaiting the answer to her question.
