parker shows up early sipping on a bigass iced latte, chock full of as much sugar as she can get away with. no better way to beat the summer heat, in her opinion. she gets about halfway through the drink by the time their targets show up.

a small group of rangers gather at the end of the pier. she lounges, arms up against the wooden rails, shades hiding her casual glances over to the crew that are sending out their water pokemon in preparation to follow the sharpedo as they migrate.

their teeth are pretty damn valuable and with trade at an all-time low, rocket smugglers are starting to have to look to other investments in trade. it's not her usual job, but hey, she's a lackey.

she wipes sweat from her brow. the greninja at her side looks down at the water quite hungrily.

"soon, bud. just gotta wait for our backup to get here."

grunt work is not why tania was brought to hoenn, but she's not proud enough to complain when it falls in her lap. she's known it for much longer than her new duties and the organization knows it. some would go so far as to say it's a compliment that they continue to come to her -- to pay deference to her experience and skill.

not tania, but someone surely.

she approaches her partner with easy and quiet steps. her body language is comfortable, hands in the pockets of her jeans. a cigarette behind her ear and another (already lit) dangling from her lips.

with the sleeves of her t-shirt rolled to her shoulders, exposing arms that speak to years of rigorous physical exercise, she looks the part of perhaps a deckhand on their smoke break.

behind her hulks dan. the machoke has eyes only for tania as he waits to be instructed.

"parker?" tania asks, pulling the cigarette from her lips to do so. she flicks ashes into the water while awaiting a response.

the only things that betray her temperament are her eyes. unguarded by shades, the calculating way they run over the other woman and then the pier is plain. approaching brazen.

greninja is the first to notice tania. a few other people mill about on the pier, readying fishing equipment or licking ice cream cones from the stand on the beach. so parker only turns her attention when her pokemon does. the frog tenses and then shifts, moving his gaze to their targets.

"that'd be me. tania?" she looks down, gaze flicking up over her shades. a snicker lights up her features and she stretches, twisting against the dock's railing.

"got a couple jet skis waiting under the docks. looks like they're boutta head out." she juts a chin. "your machoke swim?"

"that'd be me," tania echoes before bringing the cigarette back to her lips and taking another burning suck of air.

she nods in acknowledgement at parker's information. under the guise of cracking her neck she looks at the space under the docks and can spot the faint shadow of their rides on the water. god she hates the water. nothing to be done for it, though.

all for the glory of rocket.

"dan?" she meets parker's question with a question as her attention returns to the other woman, "three times a week. it's good for his shoulder."

tania pairs her comment with a mindless slap to the machoke's right shoulder and the mass of scars there. it's like spider webs, with one gnarly epicenter. a dimple that could fit a fist and then some, courtesy of THEO BECKETT.

"heh, sick." her attention shifts from the machoke's shoulder to the edge of the dock. greninja even perks up, moving from a languid lounge against the rails to peer down as the rangers take turns diving off the pier. and then, shortly after, the sounds of wave runners echo up from the water. the group of rangers move out.

parker stretches her arms over her head, loosening up her own muscles. she nods towards greninja and the frog vaults off the pier too, landing beside their own rides some ten feet below.

"alright, partner. let's go get some teeth." and with that, she too dives off the pier. her descent is a little less graceful than her greninja's; the frog helps haul her up into the seat of the bobbing jet ski. their water crafts are going to be faster than their adversaries', but they'll be a bit more difficult to handle.

she peers up, waiting for tania and dan to join them.
