gabriel looks over the orb in his hands, but doesn't move to take it. instead, gabriel presses a button on a nearby wall — an intercom.

"the subject is ready. make preparations immediately."

the lab comes alive behind them, double doors opening as a non-descript man enters with a velvet box. he opens it, holding it towards the underboss as if to accept the orb into its linen interior.

the lights of the exam room ahead of them flick on as individuals stream in, sanitizing the space, moving the machinery about methodically, and preparing liquid solutions of all kinds.

"it will be sedated, and will remain so until it's returned to you. i trust you'll deal with whatever psychological damage is incurred from the loss of its limb?"

gabriel nods imperialy, turning on a nearby television. a room's face appears, before vanishing to the feed of another room.

the walls are laden in steel and, in the center, a nondescript man places the aforementioned orb of the ultra beasts.

"this room was specifically created for this creature," he explains, nudging his head towards a series of vents at the top. as if guided by his will, the camera zooms on them. "sleep powder floods the area, and when ready, your ultra beast will be released. with luck, the room will contain it."
[Break][break]
with the room sealed behind him, the cloud of violet and pink floods the room. after a few moments, the creature is released with a discharge of electricity. unconcerned, gabril watches.

a few seconds of leeway is granted to the ultra beast, before the blast doors are opened, and scientists rush in. a dozen of them, some armored and armed with tranquilizer weapons - clearly security - with the vast majority in some sort of hospital scrubs.

wheeling the creature out, and down the hall, they take it to the room of which theo and gabriel currently oversee. utensil trays are set out, monitors wheel in, lights focused, and so much more.

the first cut is made within' 10 minutes.

"this will likely take some time. coffee?"

the coffee is given freely, and the duo sit, and watch.

[break][break]the operation takes some time as the enhanced durability of the creature makes extraction of its resources difficult. but, as with all things, determination wins the day.

when all is said and done, the materials are collected. gabriel focuses his breathing as he moves one-step in the right direction.

patched up and bandaged, the creature is placed in a room similar to the containment facility before. only this time it's kept heavily sedated and monitored.[break][break]
a well-dressed woman opens the door soon after. in her hands is a wooden box, large and ornate, specially crafted. he doesn't need to open it to know what is inside.

"you've held up your end of the bargain, beckett. i will do so with mine." he holds out a hand to shake with.
