Nico let out a giggle and stuck his own tongue out at Matthew in retaliation. Both he and Juvon looked rather pleased with themselves, challenging the others to answer their call to combat. Both looked surprised, however, when the sidewalk was suddenly covered in multiple different Kazzy's, all grinning Juvon down. "Bii..." The mouse looked around nervously at the crowd now surrounding him.

"No problem!" Nico declared, "If he wants to bring friends, we'll just hit 'em all! Thunderbolt at their feet, Juvon!" He ordered, earning a quick cry of acknowledgement before Juvon's cheeks began to spark.

Rather than letting out a condensed, focused blast, the Pikachu spread his electricity all over, aiming for the ground- specifically, at all of Kazzy's paws in an effort to knock the real one off balance by the small blast of energy.

Nico grinned in satisfaction as they successfully found the real Kazzy among the group of clones. The notion that their idea had actually worked sparked immediate delight in both of them, with Nico bouncing in place and Juvon waving his tail from side to side eagerly.

Then the next action was announced, and Nico stuttered, blinking once until the move sunk in. "Ohsh- Quick attack away, Juvie!" He'd order, watching as the agile mouse immediately fled, his trainer quickly dodging to the side as the two Pokemon ran past him. "Oh man- those fangs don't look good-!"

Juvon seemed to be in agreement. Frantically fleeing with wide eyes, but with no where to go, he only really managed to lead the Rockruff in a circle around the trainers.

Nico quickly bounced out of the way as Juvon led Kazzy in a wide circle, unable to shake the pup whilst also avoiding the chomp. Still, this stalemate wouldn’t work out on a real battle, and he was too flustered to come up with an immediate idea on the spot- Then Matt introduced another clever move. ”Oh sh- Slow down!” The order just confused Juvon, whom slowed his quick-attack speed only slightly. Still moving too fast to restabilize himself when the ground suddenly turned into loose stones. The stones then turned into sharp points, and Juvon cried out as he was knocked straight off his feet. The momentum from his speed sending him into a rolling tumble into the dust.

”Oof…” Nico was by his Pokemon’s side in a minute, getting between the two ‘mons to give his mouse a second to recover. A practice battle was nice for that reason; there would be no stalling in a real battle, though. ”You alright, bud?” The mouse grumbled a bit, pawing at his bruised face before his ears perked, abruptly jumping to his feet and crying out proudly. ”Yup, you’re good- That was actually a good move, dude.” Nico admitted toward his boyfriend, gaze traveling down to Kazzy, ”And you, too, Kazzy. Good boi.” Looking down at the sulking Juvon, he’d add, ”Maybe another agility would’ve helped you keep balance…? Sorry about that.” That earned him a grin from the mouse, waving his paw dismissively, ‘no big deal~’.

”Wanna keep going??” Nico asked, getting out of the way- until he heard a stomach growl, ”Oh… Is someone hungry?” He grinned, pretending not to notice Juvon's sheepish shuffling.

Matthew's wide smirk was a treat to see, and his pride had rubbed off on Nico, causing the blond to beam as well as approach to plant a quick kiss to the other's cheek. In the little scuffle they made, dirt and dust had been kicked up, and both young men had dirty clothes now... Amazing how exhilarating a small battle could be!

"Okay- food time!" Nico's grin didn't leave as Matt still suggested the rock gym, suppressing the flutter of nerves that rose up his chest. "Ehhh, I'll give it a little time before using Lilypad to single-handedly take down a gym." He laughed at the mere thought, knowing full well that it wouldn't be that simple. "Truthfully... I want her to grow up a lil before then... But for now, food!"

Juvon immediately cheered in agreement as he'd sprint up his trainer's back, climbing up to his shoulder and letting his lightning-shaped tail wave eagerly back and forth. "You really were hungry, weren't you!"
