Isaac was used to diving in and out of trouble, day in and day out. For someone who wasn't so trigger happy, this little altercation was basically a full day in of itself.[break][break]

As Aurelie expressed interest and surprise about Isaac's research, his smile took a turn for the weary. "Wanna know the best part? I've got no clue, either," he admitted. "Usually, I'm much more of an on-the-fly kinda learner. But something tells me if that's how I'm learning about a Legendary Pokemon, something's gone really, really wrong." It was bad enough encountering the Mew-Man, a living storm of psychic power that could singlehandedly dismantle an entire mob of Groudon cultists. If he was in the path of an actual capital l Legendary, or even one of their Avatars, Isaac knew he'd be in big trouble.[break][break]

It was almost strange, in a way. To the people who revered them, even minor legendaries were as gods. To groups as ambitious as Rocket and the League, they were just another tool in an ever-escalating war. And then there were the common people of Hoenn, so disconnected from the idea of Legendaries that they treated them like a bunch of dusty old stories.[break][break]

By now, Isaac expected Aurelie to be on her merry way. However, before she left, she had one last blessing for Isaac. It was such a dorky, earnest gesture that he couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Hey, if I can get the big guy himself in my corner, I'll call that a win," he joked. "But, steel types and an ice cold drink? That I can do!"[break][break]

Now, with a cool smirk thrown over her shoulder and the wave of a raised hand, Aurelie made her proper exit. "It was great to meet you, too. If you ever need a hand knocking the sense into any more creepazoids, you've got my sword," he said, raising his Honedge to her in a half-wave, half-salute. "I hope you found what you were looking for today, too."[break][break]

Something told Isaac that it would either be a lot easier than what he was looking for here, or a thousand times harder.
