--- cait sat up in bed, having turned on the light several hours following senon's exit. she was pleasantly sore, but her mind refused to settle. she blamed it on the stress inflicted upon her by the outside world. it was as though peace was an impossibility. one problem merely gave way to another; not allowing for a moment's rest.
she rubbed her face and heaved a sigh, wondering where senon had gone following their nightly coitus. standing and shrugging on a light blue robe, she'd exit into the living area; careful not to stir her children as she did so. they were settling in the nursery well enough, after all.
cait quietly joined him upon the wooden porch, the young woman settling at his side and leaning against him. the air felt surprisingly cool against her freckled skin, but not cool enough as to cause her any amount of discomfort. she tilted her head up toward the sky, breathing deeply.
"we don't have long," she breathed. "do we?"
