Another day another day of putting some opponents down. now that they were on the homestretch it was time for kazimir and his incineroar to try and show that they were indeed the top competitors. As such there were hardly any times for introductions as the blonde trainer shot a first forward right at their opponents. "hit them fast and hard!" yelled out the foe on the other side as the large tiger cat rushed forward with his body twisting into a darkest lariat and try to crash into their foe with all of his strength.

Honestly, Luka can't believe she's made it this far.[break][break]
Does she believe in Helios? Absolutely! It's her own skills that she finds lacking. Unable to command him properly, Luka has simply let her Blaziken do as he likes...and he's doing fantastically, of course.[break][break]
Her father had trained him well.[break][break]
Admittedly, however, she's learned a lot just by watching him battle. His quick thinking, impeccable judgement and lethal timing is all committed to memory. Helios strikes hard and fast and with a blunt decisiveness— and that has carried him into the semi-finals.[break][break]
He opens much the same. Almost evenly matched in size, Helios takes advantage of his slimmer form to go low rather than high. When his opponent rushes him with all their might, he skids towards the ground and throws his leg out to trip up the Incineroar with a low, sweeping kick.[break][break]

"don't think cheap tricks are gonna help ya out here! We aren't top competitors for nothing!" Their low strike didn't quite hit the mark as the Incineroar's strength made up for the fact that they probably had a bit more agility to them. Still they couldn't just be too confident, there was always the chance for a slip up but by Arceus was Kaz going to make sure he didn't let his Incineroar get taken down but just some random luck. "let's get to it then Tiggs! Hit them with that good ol' firery temper of yours!" On command the Incineroar charged ahead as flames wrapped around his body as his flare blitz took form and aimed to crash into the Blazekin with all of the cat's weight behind it.

If a more nuanced approach won't work, then fine. He'll just have to face the assault head-on.[break][break]
Flames lick the corners of Helios' beak as he exhales a fiery breath, talons digging into the arena floor as he prepares to take the brunt of a powerful attack. There's every chance that he could simply evade such a brute force assault, but choosing finesse over strength hasn't worked out for him yet this round.[break][break]
Instead, Helios plans to meet the attack with one of his own, an equal and opposite force. Fists glow with a ring of fire as he prepares a flame punch as a counter, planning to knock the Incineroar back so that he can continue an attack on his own terms.

A punch for a punch, seeing that their attack managed to knock them back a little bit. That's when they decided to counterattack with the fury of a fire type, a real match up that the Incineroar couldn't help but smirk at. "Alright let's give them what they want then Tigger! Let them have it!" The large cat rushed forward with his own fist drawn back as lightning sparked around it as he threw the thunder punch forward to clash fists with this large chicken.

The fight is starting off rocky. Though not blown back by any means Helios is struggling to land a solid hit. He grunts and shakes off the latest blow, clicking his beak in frustration. This time, his opponent's punch is met with a kick, a glancing blow struck against the oncoming first while another, wreathed in flame, is aimed right for the giant cat's torso.[break][break]

"You can do it!" Luka calls from the sidelines, hands cupped around her mouth. "Come on, Helios! I believe in you!"[break][break]

Her cheerleading might be unnecessary, but perhaps it'll invigorate her Blaziken enough to finally start beating his opponent back.

"let's show them that we're not all about offense Tiggs, show them that they won't even be able to knock us all down! let's bulk up our defenses!" shouted kazimir who earned a roar of acknowledgement from his large cat partner. The Incineroar took in a deep breath before puffing out his chest and flexing his muscles to their fullest bulk as his whole body bulked up with muscle to build its own defense like a brick wall. A wall that was ready to take on the Blazekin's strike and test to see if leg day was worth it.

A moment of bulking up defenses means a moment to breathe. Helios exhales a steady stream of flame as he strategizes, talons scraping against the floor and leaving deep gouges in the dirt.[break][break]

So it seemed that they were really set on testing their metal now were they? The Blazekin seemed to have a fire in its eyes that spelled trouble if they didn't do something. Of course in a case like this there was only one option that could keep them safe. "C'mon tiggs let's show them what real muscle power can do!" Taking in another deep breath the Incineroar decided to bulk up his muscles and try to take the assault head on like a real champion of the ring!

It's a mighty blow. Helios can feel the force behind his fists connecting, landing a hit that might have knocked his opponent out had they not prepared for such an onslaught. He huffs, but undeterred, goes in for another volley of blows.[break][break]
Now that he's found his rhythm, perhaps it'll be easier to continue knocking his opponent back. Helios doesn't relent, delivering a quick series of punches and kicks off the momentum of his previous attack.

The damage was done and tigger seemed to be taking a whole lot of it as the attack managed to strike true. Still the Incineroar's own defense was still standing strong but the body was something that needed to be treated with care and the large cat's was about to suffer from wear and tear. If things didn't end soon then it would spell trouble for him, and yet his pride still insisted that he try to claim victory before that even happened. "we aren't out of the game just yet, let's give them every last drop of what we got tiggs!" The cat only roared in response as it charged forward with arms crossed and ready to dive at the chicken with a dual chop.

Despite his previous frustration Helios doesn't seem angry that his opponent hasn't gone down. Now that he's no longer at a startling disadvantage he relishes the thrill of an even fight, going toe to toe with an equally powerful foe.[break][break]

"That's it!" Luka cheers from the sidelines, "You can do it, Helios!"[break][break]
And this time, rather than seeming irritated, the Blaziken's eyes gleam as he exhales a stream of flame in retaliation, fists raised high as he prepares to block the dual chop and parry with a flaming kick of his own.

The dual chop was blocked and the Blazekin managed to strike Tigger in the face with his kicks and nearly sent the cat to the ground. Of course he wasn't about to give up just yet and quickly rolled to the side as soon as he hit the ground and scrambled onto four legs before rushing forward again. "let's turn up the heat!" As the cat charged his body started to become engulfed in fire as he circled around the Blazekin before pouncing onto his opponent with a flare blitz ready to char him.

What happens when fire meets fire?[break][break]
The answer is explosive and decidedly awesome. Helios cloaks himself in flame and charges in time with the Incineroar's flare blitz, the two clashing at the center of the arena as a ball of searing fire erupts between them.[break][break]

Luka chews on her lip as she peers through the smoke and flame, unable to see, for now, if either fighter is still left standing.[break][break]
