Normally she’d stay around Lavaridge and get through all the little normal things that came with her being associated as the Ranger Captain of the hot springs resort town.

Today, though?

She could leave the place in Josh Dragomir’s hands.

For her services were needed elsewhere, in the form of—

“Oh, today?” she blinked, but she didn’t honestly mind the day trip, considering the individual she was going to meet up with was also a parent who had kids, and therefore they were going to meet up instead at Fortree.

(Maybe there was a reason why they’d asked for her specifically; a parent of two troublemakers herself, to go out and meet the new guy that the Rangers had conscripted.)

“Hey, J, take care of Lavaridge for me for today, okay?! I got some Ranger stuff I gotta do elsewhere!”

And off she went, taking the Air Sora Express. Oh, how she missed flying on the back of her Braviary. While she’d have normally Teleported herself to Fortree instead, today, she figured—she’d live a little and go there the natural way—through the skies.

In no time flat the Braviary was circling around for a landing before finally alighting somewhere within the City of Trees’ massive expanse, and then she wondered—

Wait, where were they going to meet exactly? Whoops!

Admittedly, it wasn’t very hard to find the man. On the edge of the city with Alain and his girls, Sacha was putting Victoire on Alain’s back and his mother-in-law was laughing softly from the sidelines. It was all a fun time, but Sacha was very aware that he’d have to head off to work. He’d soon say goodbye to the girls and head off with Izumi Yamamura. That was the name he’d been given, at least.[break][break]

The blue Tyrantrum was always gentle with the girls, any kids, really, but that was likely because the Pokemon had been around for each and every birth of the girls. He was like a dog in that regard. Or a very large, very awkward nurse.[break][break]

When Sacha noted the Bravairy in the sky that quickly landed in the trees, Sacha excused himself, leaving Alain with his mother-in-law and the girls as he made his way through the city. It was a quick walk to meet Izumi and he approached her with the casual confidence of a man that really wasn’t bothered by much. [break][break]

“Izumi?” he asked as he approached just to test to make sure that it was her. “Sacha Rosier,” he introduced himself, “It's nice to meet you,” the man said with a slight smile and a silent nod of greeting.

It didn’t take too long for Sora to alight in one of the lower-growing trees, before she literally took a flying leap and scored a three-point landing on the ground below—recalling the Braviary back into his Friend Ball to allow the dual-type some time to rest.

Thankfully, the satchel bag she’d brought along didn’t tip over to the side, so the food she’d brought along didn’t spill. Whew, thank hell for that.

A few minutes’ of walking later, she finally found the person she was sent out to meet—and she couldn’t help but crack a grin at the other.

“Yeah, that’s me,” she replied before taking a little bow of her own in response to his greeting. “I heard you got kids of your own?”

That was what was within the information brief that was sent to her. Might as well get the familiar ground established so that they could get down to business afterward.

Sacha was relieved that he hadn’t just walked up on a total stranger that wasn’t the person that he was supposed to be meeting. Smiling a little brighter, the man rubbed at the back of his neck at Izumi’s little bow before she straightened back up. “Yeah. I have three daughters,” Sacha said with a smile and then motioned back behind him, “They’re back that way with their grandmother and two of my Pokemon right now,” he declared, “Would you like to meet them before we get to business?”[break][break]

Though, he was momentarily thinking that maybe he should have brought them to Izumi so that their kids could all meet and form some sort of relationship. It wasn’t that there weren’t a lot of kids in Fortree, but as usual, in most places, the age ranges varied quite a bit.[break][break]

Motioning for Izumi to follow him, Sacha turned and started to lead her back through the trees. Soon enough, wild giggling filled the trees, and his youngest, Victoire, wandered past on the back of Alain, Linda following closely behind to make sure the toddler didn’t fall off the Pokemon’s back. “That’s Victoire,” Sacha said, his gaze protectively following his youngest daughter. [break][break]

The other two girls were sitting in the grass, taking turns tossing a ball for Cherie, who kept picking it up and bringing it back to them. “And these two are Manon, my oldest, and Camille, my middle child. Say hello to Ms. Izumi, girls,” Sacha said, hoping that they chose today to actually be polite.[break][break]

Manon looked up with bright, playful eyes, “Hi Ms. Izumi!” she said, Camille echoing her in a higher tone. All three of his girls had heads of beautiful red curls, with green eyes and freckles dotting their cheeks. They all looked very much like their mother in every way. Manon was the most stoic of the three, much like her father, but she still appeared to be a happy kid all around.

“Oh, totally! Maybe I can get Zack and Lyra to meet ‘em when you get the chance to come over to Lavaridge,” she hummed, unable to keep the excitement out of her voice as she followed the other man some ways back and saw—

A completely massive Tyrantrum carrying a redhead who was literally screeching with glee. At least the Tyrantrum had another Pokémon walking alongside it just in case the girl decided to take an unexpected trip down!

“Oh, my god they’re all going to have a ball when they meet Zack,” she continued as two of the three turned their way and greeted her.

“Hi!” she waved. Sometimes she forgot she was already a mother. Ah, to be young…

“You three better not be giving your dad a headache now, okay?!” she couldn’t help but add in her own ‘mom’ voice, before devolving into a fit of laughter. “When y’alls come out to Lavaridge for a visit I may have a couple new playmates for you to meet. And one of them’s a boy.”

She couldn’t help but laugh afterward. This was going to be a hoot.

Linda, the girls' grandmother, waved warmly at Izumi as she continued to follow the Tyrantrum and her granddaughter around the clearing. She didn't say much, but she really was a woman of few words, just as Sacha was. He appreciated it because she never tried to lecture him when he truly didn't need it.[break][break]

It was Manon who spoke up to Izumi, her eyes bright and excited, "We try to help daddy as much as possible," the little girl said, reaching down when Cherie dropped the toy ball in her lap. She threw it again and the Rockruff went bolting off to get it. Giggling wildly, the girl focused on the way that the pokemon ran, gleefully and excited.[break][break]

Camille looked up as well, her jaw dropping a little bit, "A boy?" she asked, her voice so tiny but her eyes just as bright and suddenly curious. "Like daddy?" she asked and looked at Sacha.[break][break]

His cheeks heated and he rubbed at the back of his neck, "Yes, ladybug," Sacha said with a warm chuckle. Looking to Izumi, he smiled a little more. "I'd love for them to get a chance to meet each other. There's a lot of kids here, but they aren't all the same age," he mused, watching Alain carrying Victoire around the clearing. Linda was reaching up to readjust her granddaughter so that she didn't tumble down, and Alain was leaning closer to the ground to make sure she didn't fall, either.[break][break]

"You have two kids, right? How old are they?" Sacha asked in order to make conversation. This was the most he'd really talked in a while, and it already felt nice to have a conversation with another adult. Not that Linda wasn't great company, because she was, but Sacha was also just happy to be talking to someone more his age, with his same new profession.

She held up a hand with two fingers extended.

“I got two. A pair of troublemakers, believe it or not. They’re six years old but my f—good grief, their energy levels are off the charts,” she elaborated in a fit of laughter, remembering to self-censor herself because yes, there were other kids around and she didn’t want to run her potty mouth off and be a bad example.

“Their dad spoils them so much I’m the one who has to bring order to the court when they’re on the loose,” she added with a very pointed eye-roll.

“Their grandparents spoil ‘em, too. That’s both his parents and my own mom,” she continued with an exaggerated, defeated shoulder slump.

“I can ask my husband Josh Dragomir no problem about inviting your kids over, since I know your mother in-law can’t be around to handle them all the time,” she offered afterward. She knew how this shit worked, since she was a working parent herself.

While most of the Rangers were unattached, there were a few that had families of their own to protect—while they were in that minority, it made the work (and the end of the day) all the more satisfying.
