Cyg pressed the heels of her hands into her eyes and yawned, nose picking up the hints of motor oil and grease she'd been drowning in for the last few weeks. She was trying to get Isaac his bike by the end of the year, but it was no easy task.

The Safari Zone trip was a break for her brain, and her body, back aching from being bent over a motor, bruises on her shoulderblades from hours pressed against a creeper to pilfer parts from other machines. The sunlight was bright against her bleary vision as Mairwen cow-mooed from beside her, waiting in case her trainer fell over from exhaustion.

Sometimes shiny Pokemon looked really cool-- like in this Treecko’s case, Cyg thought, admiring the color scheme from afar before she yeeted a Safari Ball at it from the back of her Venusaur. Sometimes, though, she knew they looked pretty lame-- ugly, or just barely a shade different from their normal counterparts.

This one was fine, though.

Shiny Torchic was more the color of a normal chicken, oddly enough. "Or a golden goose," Cyg mused, hitting it with a Safari Ball before it could run away.

The bright lime green Bagon was definitely eye-catching. Cyg had to wonder if it kept up the motif throughout its evolutions. ”Only one way to find out,” she mused aloud, bonking it with her last Safari ball.
