So he got fired. Try making a son with Cait after that kick in the pokeballs.

Frankly after such a disrespectful dismissal from the Hoenn League he was thinking twice about propagating any more Hoennians.

Carefully, he stuck the plastic induction port into the slit in his mask hole, pulling the soda and alcohol mix into his throat.

After leaving Primrose with his mother he made a B-line for Sootopolis.

There was a casino he wanted to check out.

The endless dumping of coins into the slot machine didn't do much to fill that phantom blade cutting him open and digging him out.

Counting down the hours until Cait started blowing up his phone.

This whole day was bullshit.

fresh off the heels of a meeting, annoyance, an expression kim solemnly wore, would unfortunately adorn his featurest.

he hums to himself,the thrum of his heartbeat catching words in his throat as he steps forward, the body which had once been in front of melody’s gym now placed before the front door of cait alfric and Sénon Game ’s home.

for a moment, he ponders his words- planning scenarios out in his dimensions of his mind before giving entrance a knock, turning his back to the doorway as to rearrange his face as well as his brain- can’t show up to someone's house with a sour look on your face, even if the situation isn’t one deserving of a smile.

FERNANDO SILPH had sent her a message on a private channel regarding the decision before her fiancée had shared the 'unfortunate' news.

he had been dismissed.

she was immensely satisfied with the knowledge that senon was no longer the head ranger. but she had to keep up appearances and feign some semblance of displeasure and outrage.

"'i'm so sorry, baby.'"

cait peered into the mirror, managing a sorrowful look.

she paused and cocked her head to the side.

"'i can't believe this happened. why would they - ?'"

the woman broke out into a broad smile. but such a look would promptly vanish as she heard a knock upon the door. she blinked, bemused but secure in the knowledge that it was likely either John Sullivan or even kim cole-essam . very few individuals were allowed to enter her property without her being alerted, after all.

"kim?"

the young woman's appearance was that of the modern day housewife. modestly dressed in a blouse and skirt, with her hair pulled into a high ponytail and her make up expertly done.

"i'm surprised to see you here."

she'd move to pull him into a hug, happy to be greeted by such a familiar face.

he takes her into his embrace, hugging tightly before holding her out by the shoulders.

“wow.” be states looking her over with a smile. “you look like a milf.” said in an act of flattery more than anything, a chuckle escaping the man’s throat as he invited himself in.

“i woulda bought over the girls for a playdate but i wanted to come over to see how the two of you were getting on after our little league meeting.”

turning his head to look over his shoulder, his body stays mostly in place, amber staring into her verdant hues.

“where's your hubby?”

she appeared to be satisfied by the compliment, maintaining her look of contentedness. of course, her exterior merely reflected the pleasure she presently felt. when he mentioned her wayward fiancée, cait gave a sigh lined with mild weariness.

"he's in one of his moods," she informed. "and i'm sure you already know the reason behind it. i hope he didn't cause a scene."

cait considered the time, half-tempted to 'blow up his phone' as usual. now that he was no longer distracted by his ranger duties, they could prioritize gathering resources and solidifying a plan to escape the meteoroid.

"come in and relax," she invited. "i'll call him. but i doubt he'll answer. how's the wife?"

anyone would feel more than a little slighted after the rigamarole that was that assembly. and with so many important people all gathered in one place and to be called out in front of them all- fuck, even his face would be as flushed as a tomato berry.

“no.” he states plainly in response to her worries. “he was very respectful during the dismissal.”

as for the former and reason for his dismissal, he couldn’t fully say he respects either party's decisions in that moment.

after finding a seat, he crosses his legs by ankle, stretching them out as he eased into a recline.

“if you can get to him tell him i said i respect his gusto, but he fucked up. as for na, she’s great. the two of us have more time to each other now that i’m not a councilboy so i don’t have to divvy up my leisure and work hours.”

he smirks a little. “maybe it’ll have the same effect on you two now.”

"gods, i hope," she sighed.

maybe without the constant missions, her husband-to-be would realize life simply lived wasn't utterly lacking in fulfillment.

"i'm trying to convince him to open a restaurant in fortree. do you know he actually went to school for it? and he has a genuine talent in the kitchen - its his element. i honestly think that's where he belongs."

he could also focus on being a father and a husband. there was always work to be done in that department. she'd make sure he was happy - even if he persisted on acting glum for the foreseeable future.

"what have you been up to since giving up the seat? it's nice having so much time, isn't it?"

cait quickly took a peek into the nursery as she spoke, the door already cracked open. her pair were snoozing away, which was a relief. they weren't particularly sensitive to noise.
