someone, a young woman named summer in-fact, approaches melody wide-eyed and bushy tailed. she smiles, an attempt at professionalism, before guiding the elite four member into gabriel's office.

the councilwoman himself stands with his gaze affixed on the city beyond. massive glass windows that stand taller than even him make up the wall behind his desk. drink in hand, and on the cusp of a day winding to its end.

he turns to greet the smaller woman.

"ms. miro, a pleasure. it's been expressed that this meeting is of some urgency." he makes measured steps in pursuit of standing closer to his desk, eyes taking in her disheveled appearance silently.

"you have my attention."

gabriel stands there, back rigid as a mountain, gaze blistering in its intensity.

he takes a sip of his drink, exhaling heavily. between her condition and the frantic nature of her request and visit, it wasn't hard to put two and two together.

"yet the sting of an accusation rests just behind your teeth," he says simply, taking the last of his measured footsteps to sit in his large chair. he learns into it, considering.

"i presume your... state is related to this line of questioning?"

gabriel's first thought was quite simple — melody would make a terrible politician.

his second? to gleam as much information was possible. he could end this chat here and now with a simple no answer. but, that would leave him without valuable information.

if she was here questioning him than no doubt she would've met with, or planned to meet with, the other council members first. of course, their working relationship had been non-existant to this point. familiarity breeds comfort, after all, so she must have already met with FERNANDO SILPH.

"you let your guard down," he notes imperially, "and nearly got yourself killed in the process." a fact he would address later, but for now, a more pertinent situation took priority.

"to answer your question though, no, i haven't spoken to anyone outside of AQUA about the events of that day." satisfied, he changes the subject slightly, pressing for information.

"where is Amor Rose now?"

unlike gabriel, melody wore her emotions clearly. if this had been a rare occasion, perhaps, he wouldn't have marked it out. but, based off the recent AQUA initiative...

"would you like a drink, then?" he offers, eyebrow raised as it flicks to her tapping foot, then back up to her. "or, will you be off to the next council member?"

gabriel nods, obliging her request. pushing himself from his seat, he moves to the mini-bar on the far end of the room.

there, he retrieves a crystal clear ball of ice, places it perfectly in the center of a small glass, and pours the whiskey over.

he places it across from him on the desk, in reach of melody.

"and what of the commissioners opinion?"
