she hadn't thought that far in advance, truthfully. perhaps she expected him to say no, to not entertain the idea and stick to the routine he knows.

and it's a pleasant surprise to find him breaking out of the mold, even if she surmises it to the end of the world and not her.

"well, this is a start, right?"

an awkward sort of start considering the events of a night sky covered beach and the moving of bodies but she's not complaining much.

"what's something you've always wanted to do?"

her smile is bright, perhaps even a little teasing in the right light.

"now's the time to do it."

"you don't have to know right now."

she wouldn't know either, truthfully. her shoulder leans a little further into him and she lets her eyes drift up toward the sky, toward the wingulls that squawk overhead.

"when in doubt, you could always just follow your heart. whatever makes you feel alive is what you focus on."

it might not be the best advice but what else would really tell him what to do? she's not quite certain.

[attr="class","illeana i"]a soft realization comes suddenly, quiet and tangible.

and it makes her go pink in the face, surprise quick to follow.

"i do?"

his arm settles, then, and she leans into the touch. it guides her closer to him, as if gravity demands they stay together. and despite herself, her eyes dart for a moment to the lips and then back up. they look alive, ignited with a hope she can't seem to let go. she knows, on a more subconscious level, he's not really the type to ask what they are...

but maybe she is.

"a trip? where?"

she asks a different question instead, though, to distract her mind from word vomiting everything she really wants to say.
