The island girl in Makana didn't really like being in places like caves, at least ones without water. Sure it was cool enough and not steaming hot but just being away from the water for the Swimmer was meh at best for Makana. But she was here anyway as it was quicker to make her way through to the next town then it was any other way, thus she thought she'd have an easy ride. But like the rest of her life, a good thing always seems to follow with a bad one and sadly she'd gotten used to it.

Something strange was happening to the sky and there was electricity everywhere, she even got zapped here and there. Thankfully she hadn't been swimming lately and wasn't a big target but given her attire, it was hard not to get a little toasty. As she was walking, she saw someone else. Makana wasn't sure what was going on but remembered some meeting at Rocket HQ that mentioned something weird like this. The other person was a guy who seemed relatively stoic given the situation so she made her way over.

"So ah, do you know what's going on. I think I heard about these things but I don't know much about it" asked Makana looking lightly uncertain about the whole situation, sure she'd been trained by Team Rocket as well as martial artists but it's hard to train for the breaking time, space and dimension. She sighed slightly and wondered what was going to happen, it wasn't widely known the full consequences of these things or at least that's one of the things she remembered hearing about it.

The older man's response confirmed what she thought was going on, she'd been briefed on these things during a meeting at Rocket HQ. Team Members were expected to look out for them as they could be quite dangerous, and often had very hostile pokemon inside some of which were like the Golbat that had appeared between the two people, were quite large. Makana had jumped back as soon as the Golbat made its appearance, her natural athleticism made it fairly easy for her though the screech really didn't help her ear drums all that much.

But she wasn't going to be taken out by such a move and threw out her Drampa, since the other guy was busy trying to find off a newly arrived Skorupi. "This wasn't how I expect my day to go" mused Makana out loud. Her Drampa popped out of its ball and surveyed what was going on, raising one of its strange yellow eyebrows at the large Golbat in front of it. He wasn't scared by the thing as he'd faced larger pokemon before, it was hard to be scared by an Alpha pokemon when you've faced things like Wailord's before.

"Use safeguard, then follow it up and try to use Glare" expressed Makana to her pokemon, the Drampa nodded and enacted the move Safeguard to prevent the use of status effects on her pokemon and since they were basically double battling. The man's Onix was also now protected from whatever the Skorupi might fire at the rock snake, at least in regards to status. The Golbat didn't seem to register the Safeguard all that much but it definitely noticed Drampa, even more so, when his eyes started glowing and he attempted to target the Golbat with his potentially paralyzing Glare move.
