jessi's life wasn't an easy one. then again, most often aren't. but in her case in particular jessica was born early. extremely so. to the point that it caused concern for the doctors. because she was born early she had numerous health complications and had to stay longer in the hospital so that she could be monitored closely.[break][break]

her troubles didn't end once she left the hospital. seemingly misfortune was her middle name. jessi was also a sickly child. the majority of her childhood was spent either bedridden or in and out of the hospital so much she considered it her second home. her parents were constantly struggling and worrying about whether their child would be okay. [break][break]

but it also put a strain on their marriage. financially this small little family just couldn't keep up with the constant hospital bills and it caused bickering amongst them. her father fell to drinking before drinking wasn't enough and then spending long hours outside of the house until eventually, he never came back. [break][break]

suddenly a single mother, jessica's mom had to figure out how to provide for her child who was struggling just to survive. often times jessi wondered if this was all worth it anyway. if she was meant to just suffer through life like this and be a burden on her family why live at all? but then she would see how hard her mother would work and care for her and how much she loved her and she realized she had to do her part too. so with all the free time she had on her hands jessi put her energy towards strengthening her brain since she couldn't strengthen her body. and study she did. reading became her favorite pastime and she loved learning new things. one of her favorite things was astrology and the weather. [break][break]

her favorite weather was rain or cloudy overcast skies. those were the times she studied the best and felt most at ease. when she found out she could go to school to studied what she loved she was locked in. because she spent so much time sick jessi ended up turning into a bit of a recluse. it's not that she hates social interaction she's just a bit awkward at it. [break][break]

as she got older she got a bit better health-wise. she still finds herself getting sick more easily than others but at least she's not bedridden and she can actually attend school. because she prioritized her education jessi breezed through school fairly quickly. she's currently working on her phd while interning at the weather institute and helping her mom at their second-hand bookstore/bakery.
