she wasn’t out here to spar tonight. Rather, she had taken the route of observer that time. It wasn’t her normal schtick— blue is way more inclined to just plunge into the thick of a fight, ready to go and metaphorical guns blazing. Now that she’s been out of practice, though, and has had her ass handed to her the last few times she’s tried to come out on top of the pile…well, she needs to regroup and observe her opponents now.[break][break]

And now that she’s left the underground ring for the night, she feels…marginally better. Like she might actually have a better chance at a higher success rate next time around. The fighting stances and weave patterns of her challengers will be committed to memory, or at least she’ll attempt it. No promises. Now all she thinks about is getting back to the upper side of town so she can grab a bite to eat at some late night diner before making her way back to Fortree. Her meowth is out and skittering along beside her, as if challenging anything to jump out the dark at them on the lonely back street.

She's content to continue walking the street, largely oblivious until the meowth alongside her tenses. Not that it's very difficult to make Richard go nuts--that erratic impulse is built into his nature. To his credit this time, though, there really is a source to his attention as a large dustox reveals itself.[break][break]

"METAL CLAW." she murmurs simply and the galarian meowth springs into action, eager to chase the giant moth. he hops and leaps, claws glinting as they slash through the night air with silvery, metallic light. the dustox flutters up out of richard's reach, much to his displeasure, and he continues jumping and swiping for it until the large insect takes the hint and flies away altogether.[break][break]

Richard looks ready to go all over again when a poochyena slinks out from a side alley, previously hidden behind an overturned trash can. She stays him with a sharp whistle, though. If there’s any creature Blue has a weak spot for, it’s poochyena. It looks fairly mellow, if a little wary. And clearly hungry. The trash can is likely its handiwork.[break][break]

Rummaging in her pockets, Blue produces a few jerky sticks and tears them loose from their packaging. Extended in hand, she offers them and they’re eagerly snatched up by the hungry canid. “Sorry buddy, if I bring you home my other two will probably have a fit..” she says as she pats at his dingy fur. She waffles for a moment longer when it looks up at her with sad, ruby eyes. “Augh, fine. Fine. They’ll deal with it, and we’ll get you a buddy to bond with.”[break][break]

She scratches his ears, smiling slightly. She’ll have a whole pack of ‘em before long.
