After meeting wren rourke and completing their mission, Kieran was feeling pepped up to return to the water. This time it was with the hopes of picking up some good water types and Slateport was a good, close place to do it. It had been quite a while since he'd had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the sun a little. Ranger work wasn't easy, but he wouldn't give it up for anything. Even if an occasional day off was a bit of a godsend.

The sand was nice and warm under his toes and the ocean a gentle rolling tide against the shore. Really, this was the definition of peace, he was certain of it. Though, sadly, it was just cool enough to make a swim in the deep out of the question. He still waded in to his ankles and shivered under the cold until his body adjusted to it. Now he just needed the perfect opportunity to catch some pokemon.

Kieran paused in his step as he caught sight of the rotund creature waddling up from the water. The spheal wandered up onto the shore, flippers flopping and looking genuinely jovial. It was just his kind of pokemon! It just looked happy to be alive, even if it might not enjoy being disturbed from what was clearly a pretty good day for her. She rested herself like a beach ball, soaking up the heat of the sun with the bat of sleepy eyes.

Eventually, she noticed him, but it was too late for her to evade the incoming pokeball he lobbed towards her. He stood perfectly still as the pokeball closed, jumping slightly as the pokemon struggled from within. Any moment now.

Shoot! He thought as the Spheal sprang free from the pokeball. That's what he got for being impatient. He'd just have to do this the good old fashioned way, it seemed. "Siv, vine whip! Keep it light." The serpent slipped forward, viper fast as the two coiled whips lashed out at the spheal. He'd rather do this the easier way, but this was what practice was for, right?

As soon as the whips struck out, Kieran loosed another pokeball, hoping that the strike would catch the seal pokemon off guard. He crossed his fingers, watching anxiously as the ball rocked back and forth. "Comeooon..."
