Despite the efforts of the grunts that took over from jayden cross, they were no match for the Phantom. The ruthless vigilante's Pokemon were not only of a higher caliber, but the vigilante was just as ruthless, if not more ruthless than they were. The Hydreigon's Flamethrower would consume those who couldn't get out of the way. A Weavile was sneaking around the battlefield, picking the Rockets off one by one, the small creature taking advantage of his speed and frame in order to get the jump on his victims, before cutting into their necks with Night Slashes..

On top of that, The Phantom himself would kill any Rocket he could by his own hand. Two unfortunate grunts would find themselves being coldly cut down with gunfire from a handgun.

Soon, The Phantom would be joined by Seraphim. The two of them would begin to make short work of their opposition. That was, until someone joined into the fray, someone who was much tougher than the rank and file that had the misfortune of dealing with the duo.

Seraphim had spent a majority of her time working on cutting down the smaller ilk of Rockets. It was such a wonderful feeling, gleeful even, to cut down the people responsible for the deaths of her mother and brother. The woman could feel her rage building the more she fought, though, and there was one unfortunate grunt who took a bullet straight between the eyes when he got far too close for her own comfort. Gael's hyper beam took out another small group of them before Seraphim met up with the Phantom once more.

She didn't need to tell him that she was showing no mercy, as he'd instructed her. There was enough blood on her uniform to make that point without words. "You seem like you're having fun, Phantom," Seraphim noted, her back pressed to his while she worked on reloading the magazine of her pistol. Her gaze had locked to someone else's on the field and she had quickly feinted back to ensure that she wouldn't be so easily overpowered if she were alone. She knew most of her own Pokemon were not at the same level as the Phantom's or many of those here, and she was not about to be caught in a situation she wouldn't come out alive from.

The approach of their new opponent, however, had Seraphim quickly lifting her rifle and pointing it directly at the man. A warning. Don't get closer. Not unless you had a taste for metal. The metal of her mask glinted in the flickering lights of various attacks and battles going on around them. "No," Seraphim said in a firm tone, the voice changer in her mask keeping her true tenor a well-kept secret.

"really? a rifle?" the apothecary grunts. he is quick to summon his gothitelle too, the pokemon preparing gesture against its dress-like body. "to a pokemon fight? funny."[break][break]

still in midst of catching his breath, elijah orders his pokemon.[break][break]

"grassy terrain. light screen."[break][break]

a green wave of energy wafts from the tangrowth, surging beneath several panels of LIGHT SCREEN.

As his partner pointed her rifle towards the Rocket, The Phantom would point his pistol at the newcomer. Reaver the Weavile would begin to observe from the sidelines, attempting to stick to the shadows.

"Today, you suffer for your atrocities, Rocket.", the masked man coldly called out to Elijah.

The Tangrowth would summon a Grassy Terrain, while his Gothitelle would put up a Light Screen. And given the presence of Groudon's Drought, the Tangrowth was more than likely empowered by the harsh sunlight.

The Weavile would spring from the shadows, charging the Gothitelle, attempting to hack away at her with a vicious Night Slash.

Seraphim did not lower her rifle, her gaze remaining staunchly upon their opponent. Both of his Pokemon were on the field and she took a split second to assess them. The Phantom seemed to do the same, and Seraphim silently tracked his Pokemon, nothing it's trajectory toward the Gothitelle.

That left her the Tangrowth, which she was perfectly fine with.

The woman wasn't going to delay. Her goal was to make relatively quick work of things so that they could move on. Efficiency was key in his moment.

Glancing only once toward her Metagross, she nodded sharply. "Meteor mash," she ordered, and her Metagross shot forward sharply, already on a path to try and strike the Tangrowth.

elijah is quick to shout commands as the battle commences.[break][break]

vines dig into the earth for an INGRAIN before the tangrowth is struck by the METEOR MASH. it remains steadfast. unmoving, tethered to the earth. vines shake violently from the sheer force.[break][break]

however, the GRASSY TERRAIN grants it healing. this close, the tangrowth wraps its VINES AROUND THE METAGROSS to attempt to hold it in place.[break][break]

elijah's gothitelle shouts, hands stretched out for a TELEKINESIS to attempt to stop the weavile mid-leap.[break][break]

"you say i've committed atrocities? i've heard of you, phantom." elijah glares at andraste, accusing her as complicit. as accomplice. "how about you?!"

"You sold your soul to Silas Blackwell. Aided and abetted his reign of terror in Slateport.", the masked man retorted coldly. "You will join him in hell.", the masked man declared.

Though the Weavile is stopped mid-lunge, the Dark-type is undeterred. Generating multiple icicles from the air, he attempts to crash them down on top of the Gothitelle's head.

"We are spirits of vengeance. You brought this onto yourselves!", the Phantom called out.

Gael appeared annoyed, and Seraphim couldn't blame it. Beneath her mask, her gaze narrowed as she watched the Tangrowth reach out and start to wrap his vines around Gael's legs. "Magnet rise," she called sharply, her voice changer thankfully masking her irritation enough in the moment.

Taking the order immediately, Gael used manget rise and started to levitate off the ground, aiming to pull the Tangrowth somewhat into the air with it. Electricity crackled beneath Gael and Seraphim glanced at the Phantom with a bit of a sneer beneath her mask. Then her gaze flicked back to Elijah. "Ever heard the phrase, 'guilty by association?" she asked behind the safety of her mask as the Metagross continued to rise.

the gothitelle evades several blades of ice, but the ICICLE CRASH ultimately makes purchase. the TELEKINESIS is dropped.[break][break]

icy crumbs clatter off its black dress as the psychic pokemon conjures a THUNDERBOLT. with a crackling whistle, it arcs toward the weavile at a violent angle.[break][break]

"have you?" elijah volleys back to the masked lady.[break][break]

the tangrowth's INGRAIN makes it exceptionally difficult to lift. two more vines lash out, thicker and dense. a POWER WHIP strikes toward the metagross, hoping to spike the steel-type down before ensnaring it further.

Theatrics aside, the vigilante had no pity for Elijah. He sealed his fate the moment he chose to follow Silas. And his continued service to Rocket, despite having a chance to get out, was more than enough for him.

The Weavile grinned as he was dropped from the Telekinetic hold. His grin soon turned to a look of panic as he was sent flying by the Thunderbolt. The Weavile would recover, and land with a backflip. In retaliation, he fired off an Ice Shard at the Gothitelle.

"The innocents killed in Slateport cry out for blood!", the masked man called out to Elijah.

Seraphim watched the battle in silence, her gaze darting from the Tangrowth to Gael. This was getting far more dicey than she wanted it to be, but she kept her outward calm. Calm. Calm. In fact, she all but if ored Elijah's retort to her words across the field. Instead, she planned her next move, nothing that the Phantom's Weavile wasn't having the easiest of times either. She resisted the urge to flinch when it was thrown backward before it recovered.

Nothing that the Tangrowth was trying to pull Gael back to the ground, her entire body tensed when she realized that it was about to smack Gael with a power whip. At the same time, Seraphim called out, "Meteor mash!" for a second time. The close quarters of the two Pokemon would more than likely ensure that the two hit one another, but the hope was that the Tangrowth would also let go.

Gael reared one of it's legs and started to launch it forward in a sharp meteor mash attack.

elijah's gothitelle is struck and felled by ice. he's distracted by the odd dialogue. it infuriates him, really. not the content, just the diction.[break][break]

gritting his teeth, elijah recalls the fainted pokemon with a sharp snap of his wrist.[break][break]

meanwhile, his tangrowth wrestles with the METAGROSS. the METEOR MASH untangles them as a pulse of energy travels up its veins to heal it once more. another surge of verdant vigor pulses across the GRASSY TERRAIN, and the tangrowth shivers with vitality.[break][break]

"what do you think of your prophet friend?" elijah asks andraste. his eyes flicker over to the weavile. "you just like him too? GIGA DRAIN."[break][break]

his tangrowth raises its arms, still tethered to the ground. orbs of sapping energy emerge and hover toward the metagross before swerving toward the WEAVILE instead.

This fucking Tangrowth was pissing her off. In fact, she had always found the creatures creepy as fuck compared to other Pokemon. She'd take a ghost over a Tangrowth any fucking day of the week. Gritting her teeth beneath her mask, the blast between the Tangrowth and the Metagross sent Gael flying backwards, catching it's feet in the ground and gouging large trenches in the dirt.

Making a split second decision, Seraphim recalled her Metagross and tossed out her Shelgon. The smaller creature settled itself before her master and shook herself off as if having been eager to be let out. The fiery rage that clawed at Seraphim's heart had her putting a sneer on her face beneath the mask.

"Your ilk have taken from me. I'm simply returning the favor," she said lightly, sounding, if anything, as bored as one human could behind a voice changer. "Light him up," she said, her gaze flicking to her Shelgon. "Flamethrower," her tone was final, and the Shelgon started to take in a breath and then let the stream of flame loose toward the Tangrowth, or the Rocket. She didn't particularly care who or what happened to either of them.

The Weavile couldn't believe that his Ice Shard managed to knock out the Gothitelle. This was enough to distract him to the fact that the Giga Drain was sapping his energy. The Weavile fell unconscious, his vitality being sapped into the Tangrowth.

As his partner took over the fighting, The Phantom quietly recalled the Weavile, and got ready to bring out his next Pokemon.

That was when a large tree fell over between both sides of the battlefield. This would allow the Rocket an escape, should he so desire.
