The grunts's panic had grown upon finding themselves trapped behind webbing, but when they saw a single, hooded man and a single pokemon was all that stood between them and freedom, they couldn't help but act exactly as one would expect from a bunch of cocky thugs.

Cracking their knuckles and grabbing their own pokemon, they threw themselves at the Phantom and his Pangoro with the reckless of a gang that knew they had the enemy outnumbered and, believed to have them outgunned as well. Golbats, Raticates and Machokes came flying.

For his part, Doug wasn't in a rush to catch up, simply ordering over the comms to the rest of the officers as he walked.

"Secure the hideout's perimeter and send teleport the grunts to the detainment facilities, stat." His words rang. "The rest of you create a capture net 'round our benefactor's webs. I don't want any of 'em to escape even by accident."

The grunts suddenly felt a lot less confident as their pokemon fell one by one, no match for the former Elite 4's team.

Unfortunately, even a simple cursory glance around showed that there was no escape for them. Webbing on the front and back, and walls on both sides.

They were trapped, and as the last of their pokemon fell, they suddenly, dearly wished they had taken the rocket training a little more seriously, now faced with the dangerous hooded man and his pokemon.

"Looks like we're done here, eh?" Came the Captain's voice from the alleyway's entrance, leaned up against the wall behind the web. "Don't be too rough, eh? They don't look old enough to be Kanto rockets."

Doug wasn't surprised to see his mentor beat the large rocket within an inch of his life (not surprised that he could do it anyway), but the rockets certainly were, and they were absolutely terrified too.

The youth couldn't help but frown at (what he considered to be) quite the excessive display of force.

He knew why he was doing it; it was quite effective too, with the younger grunts looking about ready to shit bricks, but he still didn't like it.

Violence just wasn't for him, it seemed.

Still, the hooded man's tactics proved effective at breaking the young rockets' spirits, their legs failing against the webs as he came to stand before them.

"That's enough, man." Doug said. "They're done, no?"

Doug crouched besides the young rockets' battered leader and placed a hand to the man's shoulder, chuckling.

"If it were that easy, I don't think there would be any rockets left." He said with a grin, rising back to his feet to face Thomas. "Thanks for helping out with cleaning things up here."

Mauville was doing relatively well compared to other cities in Hoenn, but the recent uptick in criminal activity in old Mauville's streets had brought along not just delinquents from other smaller, nearby settlements, but also rocket's attention. Doug's efforts to clean up the city of their influence always seemed to face some sort of unseen opposition...

Somewhere out there, perhaps oscar clayton sneezed.

"There's quite a bit more left to do today; think you can stick 'round, or do you have... business elsewhere?"
