Yet war was coming, and that meant Isaac needed to get ready. A few more rare Pokemon could make the difference between life and death in the face of the end of the world, right? Maybe that was the case. Or maybe this just scratched the same itch as the Clamperl Diving pool did, all those years ago.[break][break]

[attr="class","skullbody"]First on the list was Kecleon. Alright. Okay. No pressure. Just a Pokemon that was, in many ways, literally invisible. This certainly wasn't going to take up most of his Safari Zone time or anything like that. No siree![break][break]

Yeah, no. Isaac wasn't bothering with that. If Kecleon was going to play dirty, he was just going to have to play dirtier.[break][break]

It turns out, when Aura Sphere targeted a Pokemon's soul instead of their body, it didn't matter how invisible they were! Toto blew the wisps of aura smoke off of his fingers, smirking as he saw a KO'd Kecleon fall from the branches of a nearby tree. Isaac gave the Blastoise a quick fistbump, then lobbed a Pokeball at the fallen chameleon.[break][break]

Shit, why hadn't he tried sneaking a Pokemon in here before? This made his life so much easier!

The treeline shook as if agitated. Immediately, Isaac and Toto hunkered down, preparing to battle whatever the heck was about to challenge them. They then relaxed upon seeing a single, mint green Mankey jump down to face them. "Just you, eh, little guy?" Isaac said, a little smirk on his face. Toto mirrored that smirk, Smashing his Shell for a quick power-up.[break][break]

As the Mankey flung herself at Toto, a Water Pulse knocked her right against the treeline. Too easy. Isaac whipped a quick Pokeball at the Mankey, half of his Safari Zone shopping list already done. Piece of cake![break][break]

But if it was that easy, why was the treeline still rustling?[break][break]

Isaac wisely decided to grab the Pokeball and run, leaving this little stretch of the Safari Zone behind before dozens upon dozens of Mankeys could start flooding out of the trees.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the Mankey became little more than a blip on the horizon, Isaac realized that he had ended up a little lost. Okay, very lost. Actually, so lost that he was face to face with what seemed to be an administrative building. What the hell? Had he gone so far off the grid that he ended up right back on the grid?[break][break]

The confusion was only momentary. As Isaac peered into the building, he realized that it was little more than a barely furnished facade. Inside were a pack of Klink, floating around as happy as could be and feeding off of the broken machinery within. This wasn't a real building at all! It was simply an unorthodox, elaborate habitat.[break][break]

Shrugging, Isaac snuck within, feeling the cheap metal flooring rattle under his feet. It didn't take long to catch a sleeping Klink, its gears whirling as it snored. The toss of a Safari Ball was all it took to make the catch.[break][break]

It was just a shame Pokeballs made so much light. Time to get running before every Klink inside cane for his ass!

[attr="class","skullbody"]The completely artificial Klinl habitat was pretty impressive. But the equally artificial reconstruction of the world's arctic circle? That may have been even moreso. Despite being completely surrounded by greenery, Isaac was staring down what appeared to be a winter wonderland.[break][break]

At this point, he was content to watch the purple Cubchoo who called this makeshift glacier home frolic and play. He was already ahead of the curve on his Safari time, so he wasn't really in any rush. And besides, they were so adorable! Could he really just walk on by while they were sliding around on icebergs?[break][break]

By the time he was done, he was amazed he had the strength to walk away without catching one.

[attr="class","skullbody"]There was something relaxing about watching those Cuchoo frolic so freely. It was really, really relaxing. So relaxing that Isaac could feel his eyelids grow heavy and his legs grow light. Maybe he'd be okay if he passed out for a few, incredibly relaxing moments.[break][break]

He wasn't quite sure what had happened when he finally woke up. All he knew was that he had a killer headache and his face felt strangely itchy. Maybe later on, he'd notice the marker scribbled all over him. But for now he was blissfully ignorant.

[attr="class","skullbody"]The clearing Isaac had sleepily stumbled into was not very dunsparce. In fact, there were so many of the things running around that you could argue it was dunplenty. Isaac had never seen so many in one place before in his entire life, let alone so many bearing this unique red coloration.[break][break]

They were strangely friendly, too. Many of the Safari Zone's Pokemon were evasive and wary around humans. Those that weren't tended to be on the aggressive side, especially in the further reaches where humans weren't commonplace. Yet these Dunsparce freely approached Isaac, calling out towards him, curiously fluttering around him, and even offering to share some of their food.[break][break]

Isaac didn't even realize that the encircled eyes, big frown, and scraggly beard Jigglypuff had doodled on him made him blend right in.[break][break]

If Isaac was being honest, he didn't intend on catching a Dunsparce at first. He just wanted to cut through their turf and see what else the Warden's back lot had to offer this season. But when the Dunsparce started forming a merry procession behind him, he knew that it was too late. He'd already been chosen.[break][break]

Relenting with a sigh, he turned around. His touch was ginger as he pressed a Safari Ball against the frontmost Dunsparce's forehead.
