It didn't take too long for Riley to stumble across a pokemon during his trip down the Firey path, the only down side was that it was something he personally wasn't too interested in. Sure it was a fire type, which is what he came here to find, but the Magmar that popped out from behind a large rock near the path wasn't exactly the kind of pokemon he'd want. Riley only really came here to capture pokemon, not necessarily to train his own. If he wanted to do that he probably would head to somewhere where his pokemon would have an advantage typewise instead of an equal chance as the ones in the path.

Though that didn't mean Riley was just gonna completely ignore the Magmar, no that'd be too rude. Reaching a hand down Riley would fish around inside of one of the pockets on his shorts, eventually pulling out a literal handful of treats before setting them on the ground a few feet in front of the Magmar. He didn't wanna get too close and risk getting attacked or burned so just setting the spicy treats on the floor was fine for now.

With his first batch of poke treats given out Riley would scoot past the Magmar and continue on down the firey path in search of the next encounter.

After the brief snack session with the previous Magmar Riley was wondering just how long it would take him to stumble across another pokemon in this here firey path. Yet again luck was on his side though as it didn't take the young man long at all to find his second, and what he now hoped would be his final encounter of the day. Bursting out from one of the nearby paths that shot off of the main one a Houndour now blocked Riley's way, snarling at the random trainer she saw before her.

Judging by the way the Houndoom was acting it clearly wasn't just going to take some snacks and go about its business like the previous Magmar did. That was alright with Riley though, he was actually really interested in adding a Houndoom to his team.

Battling the Houndoom would be the only way out of this encounter, but hey that makes it easier to capture. Shifting backwards a bit to put some space in between himself and the wild pokemon Riley tapped the first ball on his belt, his Charizard emerging in a flash of white light in between himself and the houndoom. Charizard would be a better match for this dog then Castform would be.

"Alright Pepper, we gotta fight our way through this one. Use Air Slash on it!" Being a flying move it didn't really run the risk of this particular houndoom having something like flash fire. With a triumphant roar Charizard slashed at the air, conjuring up a blade of wind that flew through the path and slammed head on into the Houndoom, making the other pokemon reel in pain. In retaliation the Houndoom charged over at the Charizard attempting to chomp into the giant lizard with a Crunch attack.

However instead of staying still for the attack Charizard flapped its wings and jumped up quickly, hovering in the air as the Houndoom came to a sliding stop underneath it. Without any other delay Charizard fired off a second Air Slash, damaging the Houndoom even further. Before it could retaliate again Riley quickly pulled an empty pokeball out and tossed it at the Houndoom, sucking it in before clattering down to the ground.

Now he just had to wait and see if the pokeball worked and if he could head back home.
