[break][break]
Appearance[break][break]
- Stands at 4'6'' with an androgynous and lithe build, that makes her look just as much like a young boy as she does a young girl. Has muscles for running and climbing.[break]
- Has messy and wild long white hair - typically kept in a ponytail. Often looks as though it's cut by a pokemon's claws or teeth, or an unsharpened knife.[break]
- Reddish-pink eyes, round and large (contributing to her youthful look,) and very expressive.[break]
- Has pale albinistic skin with a heavy scattering of faint freckles on her nose, cheeks, and shoulders. Also has a number of faint scars - bites, scrapes, etc. - from her life in the wilds.[break]
- Typically wears mismatched and ill-fitting clothes, whatever she can scrounge up for herself. Favors function and mobility over appearances.[break]
- Two consistent accessories of hers are a pair of tinted goggles that she wears to protect her eyes from bright light, and an old leather jacket she seems attached to.[break][break]
Personality[break][break]
- Has all of the friendliness and excitement of a little stray puppy. Peppy and cheery, always looking forward to making friends. Very trusting, even towards strangers.[break]
- Free-spirited, she's often moving from place to place as she pleases, and has seemingly boundless amounts of energy to burn. Will not sit still - be it lingering in an area or just waiting around in general - for long periods of time.[break]
- Innocent and naive - often comes off as a bit clueless and childish, especially when it comes to typical societal expectations.[break]
- Lacking in formal education, is illiterate and oftentimes speaks in short, simple phrases. Often refers to herself in the third person, and sometimes vocalizes in barks, howls, and growls as well.[break]
- She isn't necessarily stupid, however. Has a clever and crafty mind, with most of her smarts being oriented towards survival in the wilds, rather than books.[break]
- Can have a somewhat mischievous side, with a penchant for stealth. Has a habit for sneaking into places she isn't supposed to be out of pure curiosity, or swiping unattended shiny objects or food.[break]
- But this is less out of malice, and more out of a corvid-esque desire to collect pretty things, and a lack of understanding for boundaries. Will usually return objects, if caught in the act or otherwise questioned.[break]
- Is overall a good child - often willing to lend a hand to those in need. The only thing that can drive her to violence or ill will - aside from hunting - is when a friend is endangered.[break][break]
Background[break][break]
- No one really knows where Ettie came from - whether she is related to someone in Fortree or elsewhere - but her earliest memories were of the wilds, particularly the rocky and mountainous rain-forests of Route 119.[break]
- Her youth was spent amongst a large pack of canid pokemon - primarily Lycanrocs - who made their home in the deep wilds. Her 'mother' was the pack's leader - and she was raised amongst a litter of rockruffs, her 'siblings'.[break]
- Under the care of her older siblings and cousins, Ettie learned how to scavenge, hunt, survive, and even - to a limited degree - how to fight off weaker predatory pokemon.[break]
- Even if the rough lifestyle stunted Ettie's development - both physically and mentally - she proved to adapt quickly, developing into a small huntress, a young scavenger with a penchant for getting in and out of trouble.[break]
- And it helped that one of the Rockruffs of that litter - who would come to be named Anne - showed to have a strong bond with Ettie, rarely ever leaving the child's side.[break]
- Ettie's first encounter with humans would come in the form of a ranger -
Julia Davis - who stumbled upon the pack during patrols. Though the pack was suspicious of the stranger, Ettie regarded Julia with curiosity and friendliness.[break]
- In turn, Julia attempted to gain the pack's trust so that she could get close to Ettie - wanting to bring her out of the dangerous wilds, even if the pack normally did not allow anyone to touch Ettie.[break]
- Over time through regular interactions, Ettie would gradually learn to speak with Julia's help - even choosing her own name from stringing together sounds she liked - and would learn of the world beyond the forests of 119.[break]
- This would spark a curiosity in the young wildchild - thus, one day, Ettie would decide to depart from her home pack; seeking to learn more about Hoenn as a whole, as well as seeking to perhaps form a pack of her own, with Anne at her side.[break]
- The three remaining starters - Ruffian the Lillipup, Princess the Snubbull, and Duchess the Electrike - would be a trio of strays that Ettie encountered in her wanders since, and has taken in.[break][break]
Miscellaneous[break][break]
- Specializes in caring for and interacting with canid pokemon. In fact, seems quite skilled in reading their mood and body language more often than not - aiding in communication, even if without words.[break]
- Probably has at least one noise complaint attributed to her howling at night with her pokemon. This child does not understand laws.[break]
- Doesn't 100% understand why people favor taking 6 pokemon with them max, either. why only take 6 when you can have P A C K.[break]
- Character takes heavy inspiration from Princess Mononoke, Wolf's Rain, and just my wolfaboo phase in my childhood in general ghdkfjghdjfhgd.[break]
