"we are simply short-staffed, don't take it personally," esmee spoke softly to her pokemon who stared up at her almost in disbelief. were they being replaced? no, not at all, but they acted like it. the kadabra in particular was hugging the blonde trainer's leg possessively and desperately, tears forming in the corner of its eyes as if it had failed her and was begging her not to go. "please, it's nothing personal," she urged as she started taking the first few strides down the path - hoping for a wild pokemon to quickly take pity upon her and become another moving part in her ploy.

"a new helper in the kitchen?" esmee asked of her kadabra that seemed to actually ponder the idea for a moment. the rest of the 'staff' seemed to put their chins in their fingers as well, wondering if this indeed would be a beneficial arrangement. of course, the newest member, a rotund little snow baby, seemed to waddle along - pulling the blonde trainer along with it. "wait for me, little one," she begged while trotting behind it - skipping forward to the next one.

esmee wasn't expecting anything too exotic - nothing like a fiery yeti pokemon or anything of the like. even so, she was quite curious by what the land was providing her. "rather endearing," she reflected on the croagunk out loud, bidding it a 'welcome' to her party as she had her kadabra shoot out a psychic before she threw out a pokeball to catch the new helping hand. commanding the kadabra to hold the croagunk aloft to make sure her pokeball hit, all she could do was wait for the confirming 'click' of a new team member to add to her roster.
