Coming back to the Silent Icelands alone, Thomas took the time to thoroughly explore the area. The sight of Pokemon imprisoned in ice that would not break or melt was still a horrifying scene to the Kalosian. He wanted so badly to free them from their cryonic state. But as he learned the hard way, there was nothing he could do to melt the ice.

Not even aurora borealis could beautify such an area.

He had to wonder if there was any life that had taken up residence in this area.

As it turned out, there was life in the area. Hostile life, as a strange metal and rock creature lunged at the trainer, attempting to strike him down with a Poison Jab.

Thomas saw this coming, and managed to dive out of the path of the attacker, quickly sending out Brutus the Pangoro.

The strange Pokemon would begin rolling at the Pangoro, attempting to run the panda down with a Gyro Ball. The Pangoro would sidestep the attack, and retaliate with a Bullet Punch.

To his surprise, the punch hardly fazed the Varoom, who then taunted the Pangoro. In a fit of rage, the panda threw a Drain Punch at the Varoom. This time, the attack connected with a satisfying sound, sending the strange Pokemon flying off into the distance.

If there was one thing that Brutus was, it was a die hard warrior.

Once things had calmed down, Thomas could only look on in horror at what he was seeing. He had to ask himself, were the trapped Pokemon in a state of cryogenic sleep? Or were they fully aware and conscious in their frozen states? He could only hope for the former, as that was the more merciful fate for them.

A Snorunt would peek from behind one of these frozen Pokemon, spotting the trainer and the Pangoro. For a moment, she considered her options, before retreating and ducking away.

A strange Dragon would step out into Thomas and Brutus' path, the dragon challenging the hulking brute of a Pokemon to a battle. She would lunge at the Pangoro, maw opened for a bite of her Ice Fang. Brutus, seeing this coming, stepped to the side, and responded with a Bullet Punch.

The attack sent the smaller Pokemon flying. Despite this, she wasn't done, and charged the Pangoro, attempting to swipe him with a Dragon Tail. The Pangoro had no trouble in stepping back, then lunging back in with a Drain Punch after her swipe whiffed. This time, the Frigibax was sent flying back, knocked unconscious.

Curious, Thomas grabbed a Pokeball, and quickly caught the Ice Dragon, wanting to study her back at the Ranch.
