Careless strides bring Petra further along Route 101 as her pokemon glides close behind, refusing to let her out of sight for even a moment. The Gardevoir was always protective of her, as was it's job when she was presented to her by a special member of the family.

Actually, it was the only reminder that she still had an uncle.

As much as she enjoyed long walks through nature, the cold winter season made it a little less appealing. Petra would be headed straight for home once they managed to make a new friend, where they would all be able to get nice and warm while they got to chitchat and know each-other a bit more.

"Guess so." There is no mistaking the bulbous form of a Blissey skirting along the path, which seems to turn and wave at the two of them. Standing forward in case it's trainer ordered an attack, the Gardevoir is quickly pulled away by Petra. "No, not this time."

Though having a Blissey would be really helpful, there were other types of pokemon she was keyed in on for her team. She couldn't afford to just keep buying pokeballs, either.

The two of them continue along the way, this time with Petra pulling out her phone to check the latest post from HNN.

"Awww!" Strolling further away, Petra is pleased to find a wild Spritzee flitting about. The cute little thing comes closer upon noticing her, and she extends a hand for it to perch upon.

"Are you okay out here alone?"

The pokemon nods in agreement, Petra running a finger along it's cheek affectionately. "Do you have friends nearby?" Another nod and the Spritzee flees upward towards a tree, where others of it's kind come into view.

"You guys stay safe then!" Moving along now that she knew they were safe, Petra and her Gardevoir resumed their search...

Taking the next bend in the road, Petra finds herself turning right into the scary face of a wild Ursaring. "Oh my god!" The shock causes her to jump back, scrambling behind her pokemon, and then even further away. Suddenly she becomes an olympic athlete, making it over a quarter mile in the other direction before thinking to stop.

Thankfully the bear is nowhere in sight. Just her Gardevoir chasing after her. Seems the Ursaring simply wanted to scare her away, or maybe it had resting scary face.

"...What am I gonna do?" She was trying to turn the page on her life and begin training pokemon. But with nothing to show for it, her confidence waned.

The Gardevoir nudged Petra, and it seemed she wouldn't stop until they got to town. A cab ride home would allow her to contemplate where she went wrong with today's little adventure. Should she have captured one of them, just to be 'productive'?
