The rest of the interaction is light and casual. After a friendly sparring match, Lam parts ways with Maisy—ready to head back with his catches for the day.[break][break]

As he turns to go, though, he hears a confused caterwaul and stops. It’s only then that he notices a shinx scampering around in distress. Noodle is quick to dart over to it, touching noses with the upset kitten before looking back at Lam with blinking eyes.[break][break]

Oh. Maybe the luxray he’d caught was the lil guy’s dad? He releases the luxray from the ball, and immediately the shinx trills excitedly. Rumbling purrs sound from the luxray as he wraps his tail around the littler one.[break][break]

“Well I can’t very well split you two up,” he comments, as he taps a second pokeball against the shinx too.
