”Hmm… A bit too tropical for my taste, but not bad.” is of course Mars’ verdict when giving Walpurgisnacht’s signature cocktail a taste. He’s not exactly sure of the reason why it’s called The Gravedigger, but he expects his companion to be more versed in such things – especially after his own recent experience in the Halloween “Haunted House” put together by oscar clayton and GMH.

Mars has a surprising amount of appointments tonight, at a surprising amount of cities and bars, but amongst all of them, of course there’s time to have a drink with one of his favourite business partners and friends. He’s glad for it, in fact. Usually they’d meet under much different circumstances.

Oscar skipped on The Gravedigger. He knew exactly why it was called that and did not wish to blackout at only the second stop of the night. A bit of bourbon would do for now. Besides, he was here to mingle with his good friend Mars--the drink was just a bonus.

Oscar smirked Mars's way as he asked how Oscar had been. "Tired." Said flatly as he tapped his glass. "Been working nonstop on that project I told you about. I'm fuckin' worn out, really needed a reason to get out of the office."

Oscar just wished they could have skipped the Walpurgisnacht, it was a fine brewery but too popular for his tastes. He had felt about ten brew-bro beards brush his neck so far as people tried to pass by their table and it was starting to drive him up a wall.

There is a skill that must be learned by men like them; honed to perfection due to circumstance. That is, of course, the ability to tune out all the noise in a hectic environment and focus on a single person. Mars is skilled at making people feel as if they’re the most important person in the world, and especially so when he actually cares about what they have to say.

That smart brain of yours won’t work nearly as well if you’re getting no sleep.” It’s simple logic, but the words come from a place of care, and when they’re spoken, he lightly claps Oscar’s shoulder. ”I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens with that project of yours, though. You think you’ll be done in the next few months?”

Sleep? Self care? Oscar had never prioritized either, though he felt that Mars had a point. He would probably get better results out of his pursuits if he took the time to properly recharge. Oscar's considerations were interrupted by Mars slapping his shoulder, which heavily jolted the light-weighted Oscar. Another reminder that he really needed to start working out again.

Oscar recovered quickly and took a sip of his beverage before responding, "If I'm lucky, but it's hard to say. Who knows what will happen within the next few months, for all we know we could be invaded by clones of ourselves in February. Ideally I'd be done before the next big disaster occurs though."

Oscar briefly looked around, his overstimulation morphing into curiosity. "Have you noticed everyone here has a beard but us? What the fuck is up with that?"

If only for a second, in the 'blink and you miss it' sort of manner, Mars grimaces at the mention of the thought of potential dangers and disasters that are very likely to act as obstacles in their lives during this coming year. It's only a second, though. Soon his smile returns as if nothing had just happened.
