So far so good. There weren't any dangerous Pokemon early on, which worked for Toki. He kept walking and paid attention to Nyx's expressive chirps and squeaks as she flew around towards points of interest. There was an unparalleled sense of freedom to this sort of job. The world seems so small when you're cooped up at home for so long, but once you take a step outside it's humbling just how massive it truly is. Toki remembered the most grueling parts of his early training days, since those were the days filled with the most stamina training. Miles and miles and jogging and running through normal and difficult terrain. A Ranger had to be accustomed to any climate and any terrain, and he got so many blisters when he started.

Now, this sort of walk was a breeze. His legs didn't even get tired most of the time. He had better breath control to keep his lungs from getting strained. He was in great physical shape. His confidence, though...that was still flimsy. Just a little shake and it could shatter. He knew it was a problem, but he wasn't entirely sure how to combat it. Probably just by pushing forward and doing what he had to. He sighed, cold air flowing between his lips as he mused and mused. Overthinking it...that was it. Toki was just overthinking as usual.

    

A sudden rustling caught both Toki and Nyx's attention. A small grey figure carrying something gold and shiny scampered from patch to patch of grass as it held its bounty tightly. "I've never seen that one before..." Toki said, carefully sneaking after it. He saw the little Pokemon bound up a tree, where a bright red chest was nestled in. The chest opened on its own, and the Pokemon happily deposited one of many coins as Toki approached. However, as he did, the branch supporting the chest creaked in protest to the added weight, and snapped. Thankfully, Toki was approaching so he had the opportunity to run over and catch the falling chest. To his surprise, the chest was pretty light despite all the coins inside of it.

A few coins got scattered in the ensuing fall, which the little Pokemon immediately rushed to retrieve. Toki picked a few up to help, though the Pokemon seemed threatened by this act. Toki slowed down, and carefully reached over to drop a coin in the chest. "You want these? You can have them...I'm just trying to help you out alright?" He said with a smile. These didn't seem like actual gold or currency, but it held sentimental value to the Pokemon, clearly. "Well it seems your home up there had a bit of an issue..." He looked around, and thought for a minute "How about you come with me? I'll help keep your things secure and I'll keep a look out for anything to add to your collection there?"

The Gimmighoul seemed intrigued by this offer, and at least somewhat trusted Toki after he didn't steal its treasure. It dove back into its box and popped out in the coins with a wide affirming smile. With that, Toki threw a Pokeball, and he and Nyx kept moving forward.
