Made steps both individually and with other researchers to address problems of pollution that negatively impact the regional pokemon variants of Galar, including one published work as well as the development and funding of a long-term research program.

INTERVIEW WITH DR. CLAUDINE YOSHINO[break]
Q: What inspired you to study specifically regional variants?[break]
A: I actually didn't even know about regional variants when I went back to school, believe it or not. After the injury that forced my retirement from field duties I just wanted to be able to continue helping my fellow rangers. Just an Ecology master's would have allowed me to do that from an advisory position. Then, however, I noticed the way Hoenn was changing with the influx of new pokemon from other regions -- and I heard there were new, even stranger pokemon still on the way from those we hadn't built ties with yet. That's when I realized if Hoenn's ecosystem was going to survive it needed experts on these, especially, and shifted my focus accordingly.
