kyle gets his mightyena to use roar at the ursaring. it gets scared and runs away.

he finds one of his mightyena with an object on its mouth. seeing as it's gooey and wet, kyle just assumes it's just some ball they played with that eventually got covered with slobber. when it starts to cry and rain falls, kyle gets up from his seat from inside his house and storms out.

"oi!" he calls out.

the mightyena all scatter from their trainer's shout, albeit still laughing and barking as if they're still in the middle of their play. left behind is a battered goomy on the ground.

he assumes the pokemon to have been played around by his sadistic pokemon, seeing as it's too weak to move away. it remains slumped on the ground, putting a chill on kyle's spine since he's not sure if it actually died. when he sees a rise and fall of its side, he sighs a breath of relief.

kyle looks around to check if it's a neighbor's pokemon that his pokemon just stole. he does a final test of throwing a pokeball out to see if it belonged to someone or not.

playtime for the mightyena means that they get to be physical, with certain limits. most of it can be shortened to 'don't destroy any of kyle's property', which the dogs were able to get after some time.

they're very salty about it too, and when they see a wild pokemon doing what they can't, they get vengeful.

all six of them jump the ludicolo when it comes trying to reach for the berries planted on the garden. growls and snarls can be heard from inside his home as they all attack the poor grass-type into submission.

"hey!" kyle rushes outside to try to quiet down the dogs. "shut up!"

instead of recalling each of the mightyena back to their pokeball, kyle instead opts to throw a pokeball at the ludicolo instead. if it ends up in a capture, he's sure he can just dump it off to someone since he's not sure he's using it.

voices in his head was the one thing he cannot get used to.

the feeling is unsettling. priam has seen some weird shit, but things always seem to be able to top the previous event with each iteration. this was not the new normal priam wants for himself if the one thing he can guarantee not to be taken from him was his own conscious.



the reminiscent of the regirock ruins rings once more. while he had questions left unanswered from his time there, he had resigned to forgetting about it until now. the reminder brings a chill in priam's spine.

on one hand, the cryptic message suggests that, in a way, he's a chosen one. the spotlight was always priam's short term objective. attention on himself was the best kind of euphoria he has experienced.

on the other hand, the first and only thing to come to mind to set a spirit free inside of him was through the sweet release of death.

even as the vision fades, priam remains frozen in place. as much as he brags about it when the opportunity comes up, there was no way he was ready for martyrdom.

there has to be another way...
