"it's about time we find a way for you to evolve," esmee said to her kadabra who looked up emptily at his owner. this wasn't the main objective of their trip, but just a passing thought. "you have too much unlocked potential. you do hard work regularly and very well." this praise was coming from the good mood the pokemon's trainer was in, not having to shove herself into layers of coats in order to explore.

"mm, no." while oranguru would prove to be a good worker with its opposable thumbs and keen mind, it wasn't really what esmee was hoping for. she needed something more sleek or otherwise capable of doing heavy labor work. already having her kadabra at her side as her designated psychic bellboy, she decided to keep moving.

totodile wasn't exactly the most fearsome creature. its evolved form was largely intimidating, however, so esmee gave it a chance. the small pokemon also lured out a sense of appreciation for the way it cutely romped through the fields - not like she'd admit it openly. "psychic," she ordered as the totodile was held aloft for her to aim her pokeball carefully at the top of its head. hopefully it wouldn't take too much damage by both the attack move and the small knock to its noggin.[break]
