Training had become an inseparable part of his routine. Day in and day out, the admin would find someplace to mark his own and train. Today that place had decidedly been made Route 111, mainly because there was a specific shop in the nearby city he'd been planning to visit.

A charizard as black as night was out, searing the bark of a nearby tree. He'd been doing a stress test on the pokemon's ability to maintain his FLAMETHROWER when a familiar figure made it's way in the corner of his peripheral vision.

"Hello."

THEO BECKETT

"Sure." The offer is accepted with a shrug. He was out here training his charizard, and compared to the insignificant scrabble he'd fine scurrying around them, a swampert might actually be of use.

"Charizard."

Flicking his chin over to space between himself and the underboss, the dragon began to make his way over. As did Felix, who looked to occupy the opposite side of the field.

"Whenever you're ready."

Fortunately, Theo was right in his assertion. There hadn't been a day in the last 5 years where Felix had gone without entrusting a wordless command to one of his pokemon. It might've led to some difficult situations at first, given the confusion that it may evoke from a newer member of his party, but there was no replacing those vital few seconds of time saved between victory and a narrow defeat.

The only thing unlucky about their match was the fact he was training his well-versed Charizard instead of some of the newbies he kept cooked up in their pokeballs.

At least the typing disadvantage would make up for it.

With a sharp whistle, the draconic beast was sent spiraling upward into the air. There it spent its time, a kite in the sky, peering down at them with a view, unlike anything they would know from the ground below. Felix gave another whistle and from the charizard's vantage point, the fire type swung back his head, allowing purple puffs of smoke to collect at his maw, then in one sweeping movement, spat it back out toward the swampert. During this, a small glimmet entered the field and approached felix. He gave it a short glance then decidedly tossed a pokeball it's way.

The charizard isn't so easy to be taken down. With imbued DRAGON CLAWS, the Pokémon strengthened his own grip before accepting the SWAMPERT midair.

From there, the opposite typings wrangled into one another, Felix's Charizard looking strangle out the other's movement, though visually struggling to maintain it's altitude.

"The basics of it, yes."

Though, more than Belial Stone, experience is what brought him here today. Years spent out on the field, facing anyone or anything that was demanded of him. Battle after battle, what started off a split second shaved off of his commands became what it was now.

After a second's worth of pause, he continued, bridging the gap he'd normally left ignored.

"Most comes from my time spent in the field, though."

Another pause.

"Did you learn yours in Kanto?"

That was a name he hadn't heard in a bit. During her early days of recruitment, there had been a few rambunctious grunts who'd spoken of his reign. They were later killed for their words, but not before telling Felix of the former boss' methods of instruction.

Curious, it made Felix probe in the way he normally wouldn't.

"What was Kanto like?"

In the shadows of their words, his charizard fell back to the strength of the swampert's direct Hydro pump. It was enough to make the dragon shudder before taking flight once more.
