a pink round ball of dancing joy causes a commotion. and as her eyes drop to it, there's not much recognition behind them.

she sidesteps around the darumaka, lest its rhythm get thrown off.

her golurk gives it a single wave before they leave it behind.

the path beckons her deeper. whispering soft promises of getting lost, of being found. she likes the sound enough to blindly follow.

[attr="class","illeana i"]a faint chiming of bells stalls her out. she ceases, movement stilling in muscles.

a chingling floats in on the wind. there's no ominous feeling to the breeze, only the soft relaxation of a chingling's chime.

she waves a hand into the air. the golurk at her side follows the gesture's blueprint, clay hands rising up to cage the chingling. no cracks greet the clingling and it chimes once before falling silent. she ushers it into a pokeball soon after and continues along the path. deeper and deeper they go.

she swears she stills hears the soft chime long after the chingling has been stored away. haunting, almost like a ghost.

[attr="class","illeana i"]the path begins to open up with more grass. it stretches. lazily, the way a cat would after sleeping in the sunlight all day.

and as she feels squishy ground beneath her heels, a scorbunny darts into view. it zips around, running an imaginary track neither automaton or scientist could see.

she stops for a few moments. observing until it grows tired...

and when it does, she gestures for her golurk to grab it. the scorbunny sleeps soundly in her automaton's hands. they carry it into the next mile of land, faint snores puncturing silence.

[attr="class","illeana i"]the longer she wanders, her thoughts become increasingly jumbled. she can barely even sort through them. they knot together until she's not sure what's what anymore.

and somewhere along the way, a stray pancham wanders over. it stares at her, head tilting slightly to one side.

she stares back for what feels like eons. seconds turn into minutes and eventually, she just turns away from it.

the pancham is left behind in favor of following the path through to the end. it blinks and continues along, unbothered.

she turns, feet stilling long enough to begin turning into marble.

the cutiefly buzzes close enough to touch her hair. and after a moment, it settles onto her shoulder without much of a fuss.

she doesn't move for a few moments after, as if afraid to disturb the cutiefly. once she's certain it has claimed her shoulder as its personal seat, she continues on with her golurk to the next stretch of land.

[attr="class","illeana i"]she turns toward a pond at the end. unwilling to leave just yet, perhaps.

and before her eyes can drift up to mindlessly watch clouds go by, an odd looking fish pops up out of the water. her eyes return to gravity, pulled down toward the water.

the fish blows bubbles at her. and for the first time all day, she flashes a tiny smile.

they sit like this for some time: the tatsugiri blowing bubbles and her smiling down at it.

and when it's time to leave, she ushers it into a pokeball to continue this little co-existence at home.
