a jog on the beach? things are really changing for lam. it's a shame theo isn't familiar enough with the man to recognize as much.[break][break]

he does, however, recognize him from their battle on one of the routes the other week. he remembers their shinx quite well and how it had managed to take down his skuntank, a stinky and formidable foe.[break][break]

for now, theo jogs after him, wanting to eventually catch up.

"Oop! Sorry!!" he calls out to the person he almost nailed with the frisbee. Looking mad cute in a bid to spur forgiveness. His leafeon trots up to them and trills before scampering back to him with the toy. Their jog resumes.[break][break]

A wild kirlia waves from the shoreline. He waves back and it pirouettes away.[break][break]

It isn't until he slows to throw the frisbee again that Lam realizes there's someone catching up. He pauses, mid-twist, as he spots the familiar man. "oh! Skuntank guy! What's up?"

skuntank guy? he's not sure that's how he wants to be remembered but he does nothing to correct lam. if that is his legacy to this one man, then so be it.[break][break]

"hey, nothing much. just on a run."[break][break]

"mind if we join you?"[break][break]

on cue, his wiglett pops out of the ground in greeting before turning to WRAP around a dachsbun. the fairy-type tries to ROAR but it is quickly silenced by a pokeball.

Until Lam has a name to affix to the other, in his mind, Skuntank guy he will remain! Not that it's really all that bad of an insinuation - just a simple connection. Plus it had been a good battle! "Oh, ditto!" Well, obviously. There was clearly nothing else Lam was doing out there.[break][break]

"Yeah, sure! If you want, I don't mind." With that said, he twists back and throws the frisbee - which the leafeon takes off after. Having to hurdle himself over a lazing sealeo in the process to keep up with the disc.

with a nod, he joins lam on his run, watching him throw a frisbee for his leafeon to chase after. it's only then that he realizes he's never thrown one himself before. maybe he could try later if he ever bothers asking.[break][break]

when his wiglett pops out of the ground, it is met with a SUCKER PUNCHING mawile. the wiglett is agile enough to slip to the side, however, and returns a SUCKER PUNCH of its own.[break][break]

Lam is by no means a pro at throwing a frisbee, but it’s at least enough to send the leafeon running. Back and forth, giving the small, vulpine creature a good workout too. Though, it did distract Fig when a clefable trotted into the path. Rather than call the leafeon back, he set his talonflame loose — she smacks the fairy-type with a STEEL WING so that Lam might catch it.[break][break]

Then she lifts higher into the air, enjoying the sea breeze. But keeping close enough if assistance is needed. Slowing up his pace some, he extends a hand to the other man as he introduces him. Despite still jogging slightly. ”Theo, got it.” He grins easily, “I’m Lam.”

this time, wiglett is stopped by a croconaw but instead of a battle, it seems to be offering an embrace of some kind. its arms extend out, waiting and expecting.[break][break]

wiglett leaves it hanging. it digs back into the sand, disappearing.[break][break]

"lam."[break][break]

he observes.[break][break]

"do you run often?"

Oh. A wiglett. He’s not seen one of those yet–they’re kinda funky, aren’t they? But in a cool way.[break][break]

His attention returns quickly to Theo.[break][break]

“That’s me!” he quips back, laughing after a beat.[break][break]

Slowing to an easier pace as his leafeon returns, he shakes his head. “Relatively new to the habit, but trying to make it to often.”[break][break]

Taking the frisbee in hand, he throws it again and the leafeon darts away.[break][break]

His talonflame, however, spies something of interest– swooping down to singe the morelull with a hefty FLAME CHARGE. He tosses a pokeball out at it. “Huh. Never seen an orange one before.”

"i find running to be good for the body and mind."[break][break]

more so on the beach as the sand adds in an extra challenge, making the run tougher and more physical. and every now and then there'll be random pokemon popping up like a sylveon.[break][break]

it is expeditiously ignored.[break][break]

"there are nicer routes to run than on the beach. the ones outside fortree, for example."
