Revna reminisced of her past. It seemed like a lifetime ago when she had hid in her room while her teenage mother brought home yet another guy. Revna had known what to do at those times. She had followed her mother's instructions and closed herself off in her room and locked the door. It had seemed like every other night there had been a different guy over to see her mother but Revna had been taught to stay out of the way and away from them.

Revna had asked her mother who her father was randomly and her mother had been honest and told her she didn't know. One day Revna had been hiding in her room as usual when she hear loud voices and her mother shouting before the shouting had faded away. She had heard a knock at the door and a familiar voice- her grandmother. She had opened the door to see her grandmother and two women with stern expressions that she didn't know. Her grandmother took her hand and told her she had come to take her away from such an awful living situation and had contacted the authorities to do just that.

For a few weeks Revna lived with her grandmother with the permission of the authority figures her grandmother had contacted. Then, Revna had found herself in court as her grandmother fought for custody of her. Revna was happier at her grandmother's house than she had ever been. She hadn't needed to hide anymore. It was better than life with her mother, who had either largely ignored her or yelled at her while binge drinking.

Her grandmother had been gathering evidence for months, and handily won the court case and full custody of Revna. Life improved drastically for Revna. She was able to go to school though it was a rough adjustment, and her grandmother rarely ever yelled at her. Throughout most of her early years she had it good, and she knew what it was to have someone who loved her. Her grandmother was more of a mother to her than her biological one.

Sadly, all good things come to an end. Revna was 9 years old when a heart attack took her grandmother's life at the age of 78. Revna had come home from school one day to find her grandmother slumped in her favorite living room chair in front of the tv, apparently sleeping. Only problem was, Revna hadn't been able to wake her. Soon after, she had called on her grandmother's phone for help as she had been taught to do. The authorities had come and pronounced her grandmother dead at the scene, after they had arrived and examined her. Revna was questioned about what happened and she had answered them to the best of her ability.

Revna was asked if she had any relatives to stay with but Revna could not answer them because she was crying too hard at the time. She had been lead away from the scene by a female officer, who had been asked to watch Revna temporarily while evidence was collected. Revna overheard one of the other officers saying she should be sent to stay with relatives if they could find the contact information. She knew who they would send her to live with. Her biological mother. She didn't want to go back there ever again.

Still crying at the time, Revna had croaked out a request that she needed to go to the bathroom and the officer watching her had allowed her to go down the hall.

Revna had gone out the bathroom window and was long gone before anyone had thought to search for her. Most of the officers were still busy collecting evidence in case it had been a murder, and the one officer that had been put in charge of watching Revna had been called away to a crime scene across town. Worse, the officer had absent-mindedly assumed another officer would take charge of the girl and see she got somewhere safe to stay while they sorted out where she was to be placed.

Revna had no experience living on the streets. She had run from one street to the next past rows and rows of residential homes. She eventually found her way to a local park, where she sat on a bench and cried until she couldn't cry anymore. Nearly an hour late, Revna was approached by a strange man she didn't know, who asked her what was wrong. Revna sniffled and told him that her grandmother had passed away and she had nowhere to go. The man looked at her with a somewhat creepy smile and told her she could come stay with him temporarily until she figured out where she wanted to go.

Revna didn't trust him and was about to refuse, when his kindly-looking wife joined her husband and asked what was going on. He filled her in and his wife was even more insistent she go with them, offering her a hot meal when they got there if she decided to go. It took some convincing but she went with them when they pointed out the alternative was sleeping on a park bench out in the cold where wild pokemon might attack her in the night. It was a decision that changed the course of her life.

The couple she had gone with weren't even married, though they were partners. Partners in crime. A pair of Team Rocket grunts that picked up unwanted and abandoned children to add to their ranks. She was raised along two others girls Nianca and Becky, and three boys by the names of Daron, Cedric, and Samuel. She wasn't ignored or neglected. She could go to school like ordinary kids, but she was raised to be loyal to Team Rocket and to obey. If she was disobedient they withheld her supper, threatened to kick her out, or shunned her depending on the offense, though they never took a hand to her. Revna wasn't allowed to have friends over, and all meals were portioned to save on food costs.

When she hit her late teens she was given the task of stealing a pokemon for them. Revna had been trained in various techniques of distracting people, but she had never directly stolen a pokemon herself at that point. She had only watched other Team Rocket members do it. It was on a sunny afternoon that she went to the very same park where she had originally been found. She saw a couple in their late twenties with two children and they were having a picnic. They had a plaid blanket set out with a picnic basket, and each of them sat on the edge of the blanket. There were three pokemon out that were eating with the family.

Revna had watched them from behind a tree before she made her move. She had jogged down the path towards the family, who had the blanket placed in the grass just to the right of the path. She pretend to get her foot caught in the edge of the blanket and purposefully pitched forward and landed on top of the picnic basket. She apologized to the family and brushed the food off, lamenting about the ruined food. When their eyes went to the crushed picnic basket, her hand went to one of the pokeballs the couple had left on the edge of the blanket near them. She deftly slipped it just under the edge of her sleeve.

They were of course upset and Revna remained polite and kept apologizing. She promised she would make it up to them but she would need to go home and get cleaned up first. They reluctantly let her leave. When she had gotten a few feet away she spun around and pointed the pokeball at the three pokemon clustered together near the edge of the blanket near the family. She didn't know which one it would recall when she pressed the button, but they were close together.

It ended up being a Yamper. She felt bad because it was probably a family pet but she could hear their angry shouting and didn't care to face them. Revna lost the man that chased after her by ducking between some hedges and hiding out in the back yard of a stranger's house until the coast was clear.

Revna was allowed to leave the group home she had grown up with as they had a new batch of kids to train. She was given a small basement apartment for her own use in Lilycove city, which they would continue to fund so long as she provided them with at least two to three stolen pokemon every few weeks. Revna was allowed to keep the next few pokemon she stole after the Yamper, which is how she also ended up with a Swinub, a Murkrow, and a Crustle as well.
